The story follows Elodie’s escape and survival from the attacks of the dragon lurking in the chasm.

The movie stars Robin Wright,Angela Bassett, Nick Robinson, and more along with Brown which opened to receiving mixed responses from the audience and critics. It received a score of 56 % on theRotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer. According toThe Wrap,Damseldebuted at No. 1 in 79 countries and reached the Top 10 in 93 others.

In her virtual interview withVogue India, the actress shared that she has been open to different kinds of things but she feels that fantasy connects with people the most. She was asked about her character Elodie to which she said,

“I don’t feel that she is angry for most of the film, considering she has a right to be. At the very end, she becomes angry but throughout the film, she is frightened although very courageous. I think there’s that fine line between is she angry or is she just very brave?”

Millie Bobby Brown notes that personally, she does not have a lot of anger in her heart so she does not have any fury to channel noting that it’s her job to pretend. Talking about the physical challenge of portraying Elodie, Brown said,

“I’ve never put my body through something like that before.”

In an interview withScreen Rant, the actress was asked about how Elodie’s physical transformation mirrors her internal growth. Which she explained that starting with long hair and ending up with short hair, starting with a wedding dress, and ending up in the chemise under her wedding dress.

Brown lastly added that her costume lost layers along with losing the layers of the person she didn’t she was noting that then she starts to find herself and the actress loves the way it goes along.
