Marvel’s Midnight Sunsis a game brimming with superhero battles, epic abilities, and a completely new story set in the Marvel Universe. Featuring some of themost popular charactersin comic history like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Scarlet Witch, the game boasts a complex fighting system that leads to some nail-biting, can’t-believe-that-just-happened moments. In between the carnage of battle in Midnight Suns, there is some well-deserved downtime and players control Hunter as they explore, socialize, and recover from battle.

After players meet Agatha Harkness, or her spirit at least, they’ll be given the first Word of Power following the first challenge. In order to unlock the 2nd Blood Gate and the 2nd Word of Power, players will have to collect four elemental rods from various locations around the Abbey Grounds. To make finding the rods quick and easy, here is a rundown of each one’s location and how to arrange them once found.
Once players can access Agatha’s Altar, they will be able to find each of the four rods littered around the area surrounding the Abbey. TheFire Rod is located within the Abbeyitself. Head back through the Barracks where the heroes' rooms are andinto the Chapel. The Fire Rod is sitting on a table surrounded by candles.
The Earth Rod is located right at the fast-travel point in Hunter’s Folly. This is the area just east of the place where Magik makes portals when a strike team heads into a mission. At Hunter’s Folly, open the door of the mausoleum by using Hunter’s first Word of Power right in front of the doorway. This will expose Hunter’s prior grave and the Earth Rod will be sitting on the ground in the corner.

The Water Rod is the first rod found outdoors and, fittingly enough, it’s located right near some water. Just west of the Abbey is a pool, a grotto-like water area where the heroes can have hangouts and let off some stress. Get there by turning left from the Yard and head to the water closest to the bridge. The Water Rod is ground-level, just soaking up some sun next to the wall.
The Air Rod is located right next to Agatha’s Altar where the rods will all be arranged to progress the mission. Coming down the steps (running away) from Agatha’s Altar, about 10 steps, turn left into a little stone door and head through. At the back, Hunter will find the symbol for his Word of Power. Use “Open” to open the door, head all the way down the path and make a hard left turn. At another small altar, the Air Rod is sitting, admiring the view.
Rod Placement
Head back to Agatha’s Altar to place the rods and get theMoonSeal needed to open the 2nd Blood Gate. Putting an incorrect rod into one of the four pillars doesn’t have any long-term penalty. However, it can be a bit challenging as the puzzle doesn’t give much overt direction. When a rod is inserted correctly, the pillar will light up in recognition. Facing Agatha’s Altar from the steps, the Fire Rod goes to the right in the closest stone pillar.
Behind that, still, on the right side, the Earth Rod will find its correct spot in the back corner. Across to the left and closest to the entrance, the Water Rod will find its home in that pillar. Finally, behind the Water Rod, in the far left corner goes the Air Rod. The rods can be placed in any order, but they must be put in the correct spots to unlock the puzzle. Following that, Agatha will give out the first Moon Seal and players are on their way to the 2nd Word of Power.
