Much like the Mind Palaces ofPersona 5,Metaphor ReFantazioasks the player to race against the clock to complete a series of dungeons throughout theJRPG fantasy game’srun. The first dungeon in Grand Trad is a good introduction, and before long, you’ll be taking on your second main dungeon in Martira, where you will be tasked with exploring Kriegante Castle.
Metaphor ReFantazio: Does Demo Progress Carry Over?
A Demo that respects your time and effort. Finally!
The powerful Eguief, Heismay will accompany you, and you’ll have plenty of great Archetypes at your disposal, but we assure you. Nothing will prepare you for the dark and depraved narrative that awaits you within.

Not to mention, the enemies are no pushovers either. But with the help of this guide, you should be able to save Martira and allow all parents to rest easily once again.
How to Prepare For Kriegante Castle
Unlike the Grand Regalith Dungeon, there isn’t a ton of preparation that can be done to make this dungeon much easier. However, there are some things that can be done to ensure you are in the best possible position to get this dungeon done in one fell swoop so you can get the most out of your free time before leaving Martira.
Here are some things that I would recommend you do before taking on Kriegante Castle:

Kriegante Castle Dungeon Walkthrough
With preparation taken care of, you may hop down the well and into the dungeon, hoping to chase down Morris and have him atone for his crimes. Here is how the dungeon plays out:
Rotting Waterways
Beginning with the Rotting Waterways, the player must use the mechanism to lower the floodgate and move forward. You will almost immediately come into contact with your first Kapcerto. These are lizard enemies that rise from the water and lunge to attack and ambush the player. Be wary when near bodies of water and try to roll clear to create an opening to stun them.
The key to fighting these enemies is to use their weaknesses to dark attacks.Mudo is a good option, as is the synthesis attack Mamudo. Both of which should be available if you have a Thief Archetype in the squad.I would recommend at least two characters with Thief for an easy time in this dungeon.

Proceed and collect the various items lying around as you go; these are all mainly sellable junk and consumables, but they are better to have than not. You’ll also encounter some lesser butterfly and hound enemies, but nothing to cause concern.
The next enemy of note is the Homo Fios you will find along your path. These enemies resist most forms of magic, so I would suggest dealing with them with strong physical attacks.

You’ll then run into a few Kapcertos as you go, so be on your guard and dispatch them. This will eventually lead you into a room past a group of butterfly enemies, which will contain a chest.Only this is no ordinary chest. It’s a nod to Dark Souls,as this is a Pyrite Imitec.
This enemy is pretty strong, so you’ll want to have aparty member with access to light attacksto make the most of their weakness and get extra attack notches. If you manage to beat this enemy, you’ll gain the Prowler’s Pipe, which is an awesome item for the Thief Archetype and for farming rare items.

The Pyrite Imitec is mainly harmless, but it does have access to a steal ability that can steal a sizable chunk of Reeve from you, so if this happens, I would suggest restarting the fight.
You can then head across the way, taking out the Red Elementa, the Kapcertos, and the Homo Fios as you go.This will lead you to achest that contains a Magla Injection, a brilliant item for replenishing MP.
Then, all left to do in this area is to head up the nearby stairs, where you will find your first Magla Hollow and the path ahead, which will take you to the Old Waterway.
Old Waterway
The next area is a pretty short-lived one, as it mainly serves to introduce you to the big bad monster you’ll end up fighting at the end of this dungeon. You’ll first encounter Morris and have a short conversation before he calls the monster from the shadows and your group is forced to hide.
This begins a stealth section where you will need to monitor the monster’s whereabouts by keeping an eye out for the spotlight cone of sight that shines indicating their eye-line.Provided you time your run well, you’ll get away to the next area with little issue.
While you’re able to fight the shadow monster here and now, unlike the Fire Dragon Mauna, it’s not worth the hassle. You’ll get a Health Incense for winning the fight, but you’ll have to fight the boss later regardless, and they are insanely tough, so it’s just a waste of HP and MP, which is better avoided.
If you choose to fight the monster, I can only say good luck. I beat this beast, but it was a war of attrition and cost me dearly regarding items and resources. It has no clear weakness, has powerful attacks that hit all party members, and can inflict Daze on your party members.
If you do the right thing and move past the monster quietly, after they slink off, you’ll encounter some Ochre Homo Tenta, which aren’t the toughest but can still be a pain.ou’ll want touse Ice attacks, or pierce attacks to hit their weaknessand make short work of them.
Then, head across the nearby bridge past the Karcepto to a room with two chests. The one nearest the door is a Pyrite Imitec, so prepare accordingly. You’ll gain the Orison Xiphosfor your efforts and findanother nearby chest containing the Matterbreak Hammer.
After this, head back over the bridge and right, triggering another slightly longer stealth section with the shadow monster.
As you move through the stealth section, do stop in the nearby nook toopen the chest containing the Amnesty Talisman, then head onward until the lights come back on and the Beast Baby heads off in another direction.
During both stealth sections, the best way to collect items safely without triggering a boss fight is to complete the stealth section and then double back.
This will then lead you through to the Old Reservoir Section of this dungeon, but sadly, there is no Magla Hollow in sight, so you must press on.
Old Reservoir
This brings us to the ‘obligatory puzzle that isn’t all that puzzling’ section of the dungeon. Your goal here is tolower all six floodgates to drain the sludge in the roomand proceed.
The quickest way to do this is to start with both levers in the middle, then head right.Leave the first floodgate on this side up and go up the stairs, as this will allow you to use the other floodgate as a walkway to access the mechanism up above. Then, you can head down and trigger the other.
The biggest threat here is some Ochre Homo Tentas and some Homo Casco. The latter is invulnerable to most physical attacks, so be sure to use strong magic attacks to handle them. But if you have access tothe Horse-Drawn Carriage Synthesis, this will trigger their weakness and usually kill them in one.
Then, after this section, head left and lower the two other floodgates with their respective levers. This side is a little more busy with enemies, but the levers are straightforward, and you don’t need to plan ahead to reach them.
This will trigger a cut scene that lowers the water and allows you to slide down the ladder in the center to the area below. Before you descend, be sure toopen the chest in the area containing the Divine Speed Clothes.
Metaphor: ReFantazio: How To Beat The Fire Dragon Mauna
Slaying dragons? This really is a fantasy game, huh!?
The area down below is very item-rich, so be sure to pick up everything lying around. Most of the enemies are weak fodder Gelatinos, but there is a Homo Fias in amongst them, so stay on guard.
Then, once clear, you should search for the chest, which is a Pyrite Imitec, andyou will be awarded the Beast Slayer upon defeating it.Then, when ready, head up the ladder to the other side.
You’ll find a Magla Hollow that you can rest in ahead, and then beyond that, you’ll find a series of Red Magla Crystals that you’ll need to take out. These spawn fodder enemies infinitely,so if you want to grind levels, it’s not a bad way to do it.
Otherwise, take out the Crystals with melee attacks while rolling to avoid mob enemies as you do. You’ll need to do this twice, and you’ll also need to handle two Homo Fias near the second Crystal.
This then leads to an action section where the monster finds you once again, and this time, you’ll need to run awayCrash Bandicoot style, avoiding boxes and debris as you go.Completing this will allow you to ride an elevator up to where you’ll finally find Morris.
But naturally, it could never be that simple, and just when you find that Morris and Lady Joanna have been in cahoots this whole time, and they’ll drop you down a trap door and lock you in a jail cell. Figures.
Sinner’s Dungeon
You’ll be locked in a cell away from your party, but the good news is that Gallica hid and can fit through the bars, meaning she can free you. But doing so also means you need to fight a few enemies housed alongside you. The first few are little fodder mongrels, so hack away and kill them fast.
This then begins a rinse-and-repeat process where you’ll need to explore the area and unlock the cell of each respective party member in whatever order suits you. However,I would recommend Heismay, then Hulkenberg, then Strohl.
During these encounters, you’ll fight more fodder mongrels, then Karceptos, and then finally, a Chimenza. The latter is easily the hardest to handle, but if you have a Seeker Archetype in your ranks, using their wind attacks like Cyclowill help deal with this twisted beast in no time.
Also, before leaving this area, be sure to check each cell, as there are several cells containing awesome items. Here’s a quick list of all the items in the immediate area and just up ahead so you can check them off your list before moving on:
Eventually, this will lead you to an area where, through exploring the wrecked room, you’ll discover that the monster you have been evading is not just a human, but also Joanna’s child. It’s nightmarish stuff, but you have to press on. Up ahead is the grand finale against the dungeon’s boss. So heal up and get ready for a battle for the ages.
How To Beat Homo Jaluzo
The first thing you should know about Homo Jaluzo is that theydon’t really have any clear weaknesses to exploit, but the good news is that without the cover of the shadows, this baby is far less dangerous than it was in the waterways.
The beginning of this fightshould be spent applying debuffs to Jaluzoor, alternatively, applying buffs to your party members, depending on what you have available.
Good options would includeJump Thrust to lower their defensewhile dealing decent physical damage,Tarukaja to increase a party member’s attack, and if you have completed A Haunted Heirloom, you should have a lot of Corrosive Acid to hand to lower their defense as well.
As for Jaluzo’s moveset, they really only have three moves initially:their Eager Bite attack, Deafening Din that will hit all party members, and their Stare, which will have a chance to inflict Daze. The latter is by far the most annoying, as this will lead to you missing attacks a lot, so attempt to pass turns when it makes sense and use turn notches wisely.
After a few turns, they will then spend a turn sizing you up,and this is a sign that you need to move your team to the back line and guard, especially if they are dazed and can’t contribute to the fight.
Then, on the next turn, Jaluzo will gain four turn notches from this earlier rest and go to town. A good way to control this onslaught isby using Knight’s Proclamation to direct all attacks at one party member.
This cycle will continue until you get Jaluzo down to about 25% health. At this point,Joanna will step in and heal them. But, you will now also havethe option to attack their eyes, preventing them from casting Stare, which can make the fight much more manageable if you take the time to do so.
That being said, if you have a strategy that is working, it can be better to focus your efforts on the monster and lower its HP instead.Aside from this slight change, the battle will continue like this until you finally kill the grotesque infant.
The key here is to use your formation to your advantage, use defensive debuffs to make Jaluzo more vulnerable, and make the most of strong synthesis attacks to deal serious damage when these buffs are active. If you take this advice, you just might come out on top.
Rewards For Completing Kriegante Castle
If you manage to defeat Homo Jaluzo and complete this quest, you’ll gain the following rewards:
Sadly, you won’t get the 100,000 Reeve bounty reward for completing this request as you might have thought. Instead, you’ll be forced to give this in full to the people of Martira to rebuild after this tragic ordeal. We are all for this morally, but we could have used the cash.
But on the bright side, you’ll raise your Bond with Gallica, allowing you to study the Wizard Archetype, so you won’t walk away completely empty-handed. Plus, you’ll gain some Courage, too, which is a welcome bonus.
