Xbox Cloud Gaming has been available for all modern Android phones, Apple devices, Windows devices, and Smart TVs from 2020 and newer. The Quest VR headsets are the only VR devices Xbox has listed on its official website. Access to Xbox Cloud Gaming is now sure to boost Quest sales further, giving potential users a strong reason to consider buying it.

Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro users can now access Game Pass games through Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Meta Quest 3 is officially eligible for Xbox cloud gaming

During last year’s Connect 2022, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed for the first time that Xbox Cloud Gaming will be coming to the Meta Quest Store. Now, Xbox has officiallyannouncedthe addition of Quest VR headsets as an eligible device to stream Game Pass titles.

Quest users with the latest software update and an eligible controller can download the Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) app from the in-built Store on the headset and start streaming hundreds of games from the massive Game Pass library. There’s no requirement for a console or a PC to set things up and get going.

Quest users can stream the Game Pass library onto a virtual 2D screen to access the games.

At launch, the Quest 3 had around 50 games, and now that the VR headsets are made eligible for Xbox Cloud Gaming, it stretches that list of games by a big margin. At the moment, the Game Pass library has about eight titles with native VR support:

While these titles support VR natively, all of the games in the Game Pass library will now be available for players to launch on a virtual, massive screen. The Xbox blog mentions players will have a choice of four display sizes, and either choose an immersive Xbox-themed virtual space or blend a virtual screen with the actual physical surroundings, thanks to Quest 3 and Quest Pro’s stereoscopic full-color Passthrough.

Players can choose from using either an Xbox controller, the PlayStation DualShock 4, or a Nintendo Switch Pro controller to hook up and start playing the games on a Quest headset. PlayStation 5’s DualShock 5 controller is yet to be supported and Meta has mentioned that “support for PlayStation 5 controllers is coming in the future.”

Overwatch 2 Season 10 has Done the Unthinkable, and Fans Aren’t Impressed

Earlier this month, Meta announced the addition of the Steam Link app that enabled Quest users to connect their VR headsets to a computer wirelessly and access Steam games. The catch was to have the computer connected to the Internet through an Ethernet cable to ensure no drop in internet speeds.

Having no such catch is an even bigger advantage when it comes to accessing Game Pass games, as Meta stressed there will be no console requirements in their announcement blog. Just last week,Goat Simulator 3was added to Game Pass and today,Far Cry 6is being added to the massive library.
