Marvel SNAP
Best Hela Decks
Hela is a card that can resurrect any discarded card. This is a massive boon for players, especially with a deck that emphasizes discard abilities. Hela’s ability is pretty straightforward, but finding the right cards to pair with her can be tough.
The ideal play for a Hela deck is to discard as many cards as possible and then bring them back onto the board with Hela’s ability. This is easy to do in theory, but resurrecting the right cards to win the game can be tricky. This is partly because when Hela resurrects cards, you don’t get to choose where they’re placed. This means you may draw some high-Power heavy-hitters, but they fall in the wrong lanes and you still lose the game.

On Reveal: Resurrect all cards you discarded to random locations.
Hela M.O.D.O.K. Deck
This deck has one primary win condition. That is playingInvisible Woman, followed byM.O.D.O.K., followed byHela. If this is done correctly, then after the game has ended, M.O.D.O.K. will wipe out your hand, and then Hela will follow up by resurrecting the entire hand onto the board. This may seem difficult to pull off consistently, but it is easier than you would realize. Invisible Woman is a card that you should get down on the board as soon as possible.
If you don’t draw M.O.D.O.K. or Hela, you can use Magik to extend the game by one additional turn giving you another chance to draw them. Crystal can be played to give you an additional card draw, and Jubilee can also be used in a pinch! In a normal game, players will draw every card in their hand except for three. Using cards like Magik, Jubilee, and Crystal reduces that number down to zero, which means every card will be drawn. If players make strategic enough moves, theInvisible Woman → M.O.D.O.K. → Hela combocan be achieved about 60% of the time. This combo, especially when you’re able to entirely fill the board with resurrected cards, can add 30+ Power to every lane, entirely outpacing anything your opponent is able to throw down.

There is an additional fallback plan here for the instances where the combo can’t find its way to the board, and it involves playing downMagikto add an additional turn to the game, playingIron Man on turn five,Onslaught in the same lane on turn six, and thenThe Living Tribunal in the same lane on turn seven. This may not always be possible, but it is an option that will still net 15+ Power in every lane.

Hela Apocalypse Deck
The goal of this deck is to discard Apocalypse as many times as possible, raising his Power each time, and then end the game with Dracula absorbing all that Power to carry a lane. Hela is a great card here because players will inevitably discard other cards aside from Apocalypse, and that collateral can be resurrected on turn six with Hela. Morbius is a huge boon for you as well, since he will raise in Power for every card discarded. Moon Knight will also discard a card from the opponent’s hand, which could potentially upset their gameplay strategy.

Hela Lockjaw Deck
This deck utilizes Lockjaw, which rerolls a card from your deck when you place a card in his lane. This means, placing a card like Colleen Wing in Lockjaw’s lane will swap her with a different card from your deck. This can easily result in high-Power card like Death or Infinaut jumping onto the board early in the game. Lockjaw saw a bit of a nerf recently, going from a 3-Cost card to a 4-Cost card, but it is still a pretty consistent player in the game’s meta as long as he’s included in decks that yield enough Power to carry lanes.

Best Hela Counters
Hela can be countered by a few different cards. If players are using Invisible Woman to choreograph her play, there are a lot of cards to watch out for.Aliothcan destroy any unrevealed cards, and a Hela played behind Invisible Woman will be considered unrevealed.Enchantresscan also end Invisible Woman’s ability early, which would ruin any strategy you had playing Hela behind her.Cosmowill also stop Hela’s On Reveal ability, which can cause real issues to your win condition.
Best Hela Synergies
Hela synergizes exceptionally well withInvisible Woman. You can throw multiple cards with discard abilities behind Invisible Woman and then finish off the lane with Hela to bring them all back.M.O.D.O.K.is also a great card to use if you can manage to avoid discarding Hela with his ability. Since he has the ability to discard an entire hand at a time, following up with Hela has the ability to resurrect an entire hand as well.
Pretty much any card that can discard another card synergizes with Hela, but cards that allow players to control which other card is discarded usually fare best. These are cards likeSilver Samurai,Colleen Wing, orLady Sif. These cards allow players to predict which card will be removed, which allows them to choreograph Hela’s ability a bit better.
How Do You Get Hela?
There are a few ways to get Hela in Marvel Snap. The way most players will obtain her is by progressing through theCollection Level. Occasionally, as you rise in the ranks of the Collection, you will come across Collector’s Caches and, later in the progression tree, Collector’s Reserves. These two special rewards have a chance to contain cards.Hela is a Series 3/Pool 3 card, which means players will likely encounter her once they pass Collection Level 486+.
There is also theToken Shop, where players can purchase a random Pool 3 card for just 1,000 Tokens. This isn’t a great way to obtain Hela unless you have only a small number of Pool 3 cards remaining, because there is a large number of potential pulls here so getting Hela is unlikely at best. Players will receiveone free Series 3 cardeach season, so the easiest way to get ahold of Hela is to use this free card to get her.
