Marvel Snapmight only have arrived on the scene recently, but it already has a great many cards to collect, and once you’ve entered the intermediate phase of the game you mostly need to rely on luck to get the ones you want.

That changed recently with the introduction ofCollector’s Tokens, which let you buy higher rarity cards from a rotating selection in the shop. We’ve listed out the best cards you may pick up to give yourself the greatest value for your hard-earned tokens. All the cards here are inSeries 3, meaning they will cost you only 1000 Tokens.

Updated by Philip Gunns on February 16th, 2023: Our original list featured Leader, which received a heavy nerf in the Jan 31st patch. This change to the card’s ability has effectively taken it out of the meta, so we can longer recommend players spend tokens on this card. We’ve updated this guide with an excellent replacement and shuffled the order to reflect it.

Marvel Snap She-Hulk

10She-Hulk

She-Hulkreceived a drop from Series 4 into Series 3 in the most recent patch, and that makes her readily available for many more players. Her cost-reducing ability provides many opportunities to drop her big 10-Power onto the board where you need it. She also has huge potential to provide the kind of surprise swing plays that are great for winning cubes. She-Hulk is a great combo inWaveand ramp decks using cards likeElectroandPsylockefor Energy manipulating gameplans.

If you enjoy Discard decks, Hela is a must-have. Her ability to bring back all discarded cards that haven’t yet returned to the board can provide a huge late-game swing. Her main limitation is that she can easily be discarded herself, but this is a risk familiar to Discard players.

Marvel Snap Hela

One way around this is with Ghost Rider, who can return her to the board and then trigger her effect. These two cards give Discard players very nasty swing potential and can be great for getting cubes.

Patriot’s ability to increase the power of cards without abilities doesn’t look that amazing on paper, but when you see a Patriot Zoo Deck in action, you soon realize that power can go very high and very wide. Patriot has fantastic synergy with Mystique, who can copy his ability. At 3 cost, she can be played on Turn 6 with Patriot to give a huge swing.

Marvel Snap Patriot

Another great partner is Ultron, whose spawned Robots can flood the board with power when Patriot is already on board. Patriot is not quite as versatile as some other cards on this list, because he only works with cards without abilities, but there are many versions of the Patriot deck, and they have a strong meta-presence.

7Mister Negative

Mister Negative took a few nerfs during the Marvel Snap Beta test, and his ability has so much potential power that he is likely to continue to cause the developers headaches in the future. Mister Negative enables a deck archetype based around using his On-Reveal ability as early in the game as possible, and then playing as many cost-reduced cards as possible in the final turns to swing the game your way.

He has great synergy with Magik, who gives you an extra turn to take advantage of his effect. Sera, another card on this list, is also a great partner.

Marvel Snap Mr Negative

You know a card is good when it gets a nerf, which is precisely what happened to Aero in one of the most recent patches. Luckily, it didn’t impact her much, shaving a point of power, but leaving her extremely powerful On-Reveal ability untouched.

Moving your opponent’s cards is one of the most powerful methods of disruption available to players, and it can cripple your opponent’s ability to set up combo turns. You can also use it to simply shuffle their power to areas where you are strong or where nasty Location effects are in play. Her great versatility means she can be a strong card in a multitude of decks.

Wave’s unique On-Reveal ability has quite varied potential, but it is most famous in combination with certain high-powered cost-reduced cards like Death. This combo, known as “Deathwave,” has long been one of the most powerful decks in the game due to its ability to drop a cost-reduced 12-Power Death for 0 Energy after Wave.

Marvel Snap Aero

you may then play another high-cost card for 4 Energy the same turn for a huge power swing. Wave can also act as a defensive tool because it almost inevitably forces opponents to only play 1 card on the following turn, which can shut down ‘Miracle’ decks or any other deck that likes to play lots of cards.

Speaking of Death, she is our next recommendation on this list. Death has great utility in a variety of decks in Snap, because any way you may get her huge 12 power on board is great, and thanks to her ability, she can often cost you 0 Energy.

She shines in Destruction decks, which can quickly reduce her cost, but it is important to note that any cards destroyed byeither playeror Locations reduce her cost, so there are many ways she can be reduced in value. Death has recently seen play in the very strong and nasty Galactus decks, where she can be played for 0 after Galactus has wiped the rest of the board.

Everyone’s favorite mutant shapeshifter is one of the most powerful and versatile cards in the Marvel Snap meta. Her low energy cost and ability to copy ongoing effects give her the ability to produce large board state swings when combined with cards like Wong, Patriot, Sera, Quinjet, Cerebro, Onslaught, Blue Marvel, and others.

Because she can fit in to so many different decks, she is a great investment of Tokens.

Wong is a card that can cause massive power swings when dropped on the board and followed by otherOn-Revealcards, giving him plenty of versatility in the decks he can be used in, both now and certainly in the future. He can be exploited very powerfully together with combinations of White Tiger, Black Panther, Arnim Zola, Gambit, and others.

You can play Mystique and Onslaught to maximize his value even more, and Odin on top of any other On-Reveal effects to make things get really silly. Wong is a card that demands answers from your opponent and can snowball quickly, and opponents who do not have those answers will often retreat as they know defeat is inevitable.

Sera is a card that is crucial to ‘Miracle’ decks, i.e. any deck that uses cost reductions to play lots of cards in a few turns and turn the game state in your favor. She has a lot in common with and shares some decks with Mister Negative, who enables the same play style.

Sera has become more and more prominent in the meta since Silver Surfer was released, and their “Sera Surfer” deck is possibly the best in the whole game right now. But, Sera can be a star in many different decks, and that makes her a prime target for your Tokens.
