Insomniac Games just recentlypromised that it would be showing off more of theMarvel’s Spider-Manremaster for PS5 before the game’s arrival alongsideMiles Moralesin November. Well, it didn’t take long for the developer to follow through on that promise.

In a new post on thePlayStation Blogtoday, Insomniac detailed all of the major changes that will be coming in the remaster ofMarvel’s Spider-Man, and they seem to be far more substantial than originally thought. While the game has notably received some graphical and performance enhancements on PS5 that make the title far prettier than it ever has been before. Along with these expected changes though, Insomniac has made one major adjustment as well.

The character model for Peter Parker, which was originally modeled after John Bubniak, has now been changed altogether. The new model resembles an actor named Ben Jordan and the resulting look for Peter in-game makes the character look far younger. In fact, the new look for Peter inMarvel’s Spider-Manoddly resembles the current big screen adaptation of the character that is played by Tom Holland. Insomniac says it made the change in order “to bring the best performances to players with our next-generationMarvel’s Spider-Mangames” which is somewhat of an odd explanation. Regardless, Yuri Lowenthal is still the actor portraying Peter in-game.

Lastly, it was also unveiled that one of the three new suits that will be included inMarvel’s Spider-Man Remasteredis indeed the costume from the originalThe Amazing Spider-Manfilm. While this series of Spidey films which saw Andrew Garfield in the central role isn’t as beloved as the Raimi or MCU editions, the suit itself coming to the game finally brings all of the various movie looks of Spider-Man to the title, which is actually pretty darn cool. You can get a look at the suit at the bottom of the page.

While I will admit that the decision to change Peter’s look in this remaster is a bit strange to me, overall, the game itself looks awesome on PS5. Even though I was pretty hesitant to spend the additional $20 to gain access to this once again, Insomniac looks like it has at least put a lot of love into this new iteration. I’m actually looking forward to revisiting it later this year.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastedwill be packed in withMiles Moralesfor those who buy the Ultimate Edition of the game and will release alongside thePS5on November 12.
