Did you keep an eye onOrient? It’s a new anime series that started in the Winter 2022 season. The story focuses on the Sengoku era, Japan’s Warring States Period, but with a twist, including fantasy elements like monsters and monster girls. The manga series and its anime adaptation have been a major hit.
Orient second cour announced for July 2022
Orientwill get a new our adapting the Awajishima Battle arc in July 2022. The announcement was shared with a brand new illustration on Twitter. Furthermore, new cast members were revealed, with Tomoaki Maeno most notably playing Tatsuomi Uesugi.
More details will be revealed at theOrientspecial stage event at AnimeJapan 2022 on March 26, which will feature Tomoaki Maeno. Another event on June 19 will feature most of the cast too.

Orient is actually the newest manga of Shinobu Ohtaka. If the name rings a bell, it’s because she’s the mangaka ofMagi, which ended with 36 volumes a few years ago. Shinobu Ohtaka wrote and drewMagi, alongside her assistants, and is now working onOrientas her newest adventure.
In the US,Orientis officially published by the American branch of Kodansha with11 volumes out so far. Moreover, withOrientbeing so popular, maybeMagiitself could make a comeback.

Right now in the era of Netflix and anime being made for a global audience first and foremost,Magicould have been a huge hit and guaranteed itself several seasons.
