During the recentStadia Connect, Google Vice President Phil Harrison announced EA will be bringing five games to the game streaming platform includingStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,Madden NFL, andFIFA.
The first of the bunch coming to Stadia isStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderand is slated for a fall release window.Madden NFLis the next, followed byFIFAwhich are both scheduled for a winter launch. Both the Stadia Connect video and the press release don’t specify which iteration of the sports games is coming to the platform, but it’s probably safe to assume it will be this year’s releases.
Two of the five games were not revealed. However, Harrison does state Google’s excitement for its partnership with EA and that they will share more about its plans in the future. “We are excited to bring these hugely popular franchises to our players on Stadia in 2020 and beyond,” says Harrison. “We’ll have more news to share about EA Games and Stadia later this year.”
Personally, bringing these games to Stadia may bring people to the platform.FIFAandMadden NFLare immensely popular and very lucrative for EA. However, Stadia still hasn’t really cemented itself as a platform worth using, especially if you have consoles or a gaming PC. Sure, having these games may bring people in, but keeping those people on the platform may be a bit of a challenge.
