Ever since her career began back in the late 2000s, Gal Gadot has bagged a multiplicity of stellar roles that have gone down her resume as some of the most iconic ones of all time. At the same time, she has also lost out on multiple roles, including one that could have established her as a major lead character in one of the greatest spy franchises of all time.

As she shared herself, Gadot was originally wanted by a casting director who was looking for actresses who could play a Bond girl. However, instead of just accepting the offer and gladly auditioning for it, the now-39-year-old actress had the most bizarre response to the casting director which, as can be derived, eventually led to her losing out on theJames Bondfranchise.
Gal Gadot Could Have Played Bond Girl
Back in the day, during the 2000s, after she was done with her military training and tried her hand at modeling (and becoming Miss Israel in 2004),Gal Gadotwas met with the chance of a lifetime: Playing a Bond girl in theJamesBondsaga. This happened when an acting director approached her for the same.
In an interview withInStyle, theRed Noticeactress revealed the same, sharing:
After my service in the military and modeling, I started university and studied law. There was a casting director there looking for the new Bond girl, and she had seen my card at my modeling agency.
That said, she had the golden opportunity to score her one-way ticket into the iconic $21.3 billion franchise right in front of her — something that people likeHenry Cavill would probably give anything and everything upfor.

However, instead of holding a befitting response for the casting director that could grant her entry in the spy saga, Gadot had the most bizarre response that would have been a suicide response for anyone wanting to play a role in Bond’s storyline.
According to whatshe continued to confessduring the interview on what she told the casting director:

I was like, ‘Listen, I’m not an actress. I’m here because my agent told me you really wanted to see me, but I don’t want to waste your time.’
Obviously, this response wasn’t the finest, and theJustice Leaguestar wounded up losing out on the role. That has us wondering: If she hadn’t acted this way back then, things could have seriously turned out differently for her, considering how a role in theDaniel Craigstarrer saga could have quite perfectly launched her as a household name.

But at the same time, this experience also made her realize what she truly wanted to do, all of which eventually resulted in her becoming the person she is today.
Gal Gadot’s Failed Bond Girl Audition Started Her Affair With Acting
While her clearly refusing the casting director led to her losing the opportunity to play a Bond girl, it ended up making her realize that she was actually attracted to acting andwanted to try her hand at it. This is because, after losing out on the role, Gadot“started working with acting coaches and auditioning in Israel.”

It all eventually resulted in a blissful experience for her, as she continued to share:
I got my first role for a TV show, and that same casting director remembered me and hired me for Fast & Furious. Then I started my affair with acting.

This“affair”went long and wide and has been continuing ever since. Despite not being able to play one of Bond’s girls, she scored her breakthrough as an actresswithin a few years with DC’sWonder Woman— a character that she has truly given an edge to with her powerful acting skills — and the rest is all history.
