Unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase this year,Life is Strangeis finally back with a brand-new entry in the supernatural mystery, Double Exposure. It also marks the return of a fan-favorite and the first game’s protagonist, Max Caulfield, who is now all grown up. Since the trailer’s release, developers,Deck Nine, have since put speculation to bed about whether players' previous narrative choices will be supported going into the sequel.

Thankfully, as highlighted byIGN, the studio said they would “respect both those endings”, so that means there is no single canon choice. For those wondering if Chloe could make an appearance in Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, a fairly accurate leak from two years ago suggests that thismightbe possible.

As A Queer Gamer, I’m Nervous About The Next Life Is Strange Game

Showing my support for the next game has become a complicated thing.

Potential Chloe Return In Life Is Strange: Double Exposure?

In Life is Strange, players have a huge dilemma between sacrificing Chloe in order to save Arcadia Bay or saving Chloe and allowing all of its townspeople to perish. It’s a pretty tough choice, especially for those who formed a close bond with Chloe, just as Max had. For players who kept Chloe alive at the end of the game, a potential leak from two years ago could see her return again in Life Is Strange: Double Exposure.

Now, of course, you have to take leaks and rumors with a huge pinch of salt, but it’s certainly an interesting read. In theReddit postfrom two years ago, the poster explains that they heard this theory from someone who had reportedly playtested Deck Nine’s latest game and explained that Max will be returning with “powers that have been upgraded so she can travel to alternate realities and use that to solve mysteries.” Fairly on point so far.

“The basis of the story is that she’s investigating the murder of a friend/student of hers,” saysGamingLeaksAndRumours. “She steps between realities and ends up finding her friend alive in the alternate timeline and uses that to solve the murder. There will apparently be other people with powers in the game as well.”

And this is where it gets interesting, as the Reddit user continues to suggest that Life Is Strange: Double Exposure will “follow the choices you made in the first game and Chloe can make an appearance if you kept her alive.” Naturally, the idea that Chloe could return has fans of the series chomping at the bit. One fan onTwitter/Xwas concerned that this could be merely in reference to the photo of Chloe seen in the trailer and if that’s the case, they are “so done”.

What keeps this potential leak’s lights on is how accurate they were with the rest of the story. Whether Chloe will make it back or not, it’s certainly an exciting concept, even if that’s all it turns out to be, but maybe not so much for those who decided to save Arcadia.
