15 Best Survival Horror Games, Ranked
From Resident Evil 2 Remake to The Last Of Us, here are some of the very best survival horror games ever made.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much hand holding when you begin a game, so you have to figure things out as you progress through the game. Therefore, the following is a compiled list of must-knows that can help prevent you from being fired and thrown into space.

10Understanding Your Ship Is Critical
Beware Of Your Surroundings
While your ship offers some protection, there are still precautions you must take. If you see a red dot near the ship, crouch, stay quiet, and keep still in a corner, such as between the monitor and the terminal. Keep in mind that the hydraulic doors will only stay shut for a short time, so minimizing your sound/presence is critical.
9Using The Terminal
Make Your Life Easier With Supplies
For a list of commands, type “Help” into the terminal. The various weather elements on the moons will change daily. You can even scan the planet once you’re on it to see how much scrap is available. The amount you have to spend will be in the upper left corner. Try to purchase multiple essentials to stash on your ship in case someone dies.
If you’re desperate for supplies, visit the company and sell some scrap early for quick cash.

8Scanning & Scrap
Use Your Scan To Find Scrap & To See
If you can’t afford a flashlight, scanning a dark space will briefly light up the immediate area with a blue hue. The scan can also tell you where the ship is, the main entrance to the building, and if any creatures are nearby.

Scrap can also be used as weapons against enemies, such as any signs or shovels. You may even find some scrap outside when you scan, such asbeehives, which are incredibly valuable but tricky to grab. The beehives can be pretty profitable and help you meet your quota if you’re in a pinch.
7Be Mindful Of Moon Elements
Each Element Brings Danger
When you’re at the terminal choosing a moon to land on, you will see the status of that moon. Sometimes, the weather elements will not be favorable to you, such as fog, flooding, or storms. Sometimes, you may need to count your losses if the elements make conditions too extreme to find scrap.
The fog will prevent you from seeing where you’re going, making it easy to lose your way. An eclipse allows deadly creatures to roam when it’s still daytime. For storms, if you’re carrying a metal item you will hear the static prior to the lightning striking. Drop the metal item and step back to avoid being hit. If you get hit, you will die.

6Quota Is The Name Of The Game
Keep An Eye On How Much You Find
This quota is the value of scrap you retrieve from the various moons. Your next quota amount will be determined by how much you gave them previously. If you only needed 150, and you gave them 300, your next quota would be exponentially higher. When turning it in, place the scrap on the counter, hit the bell a couple of times, then back away as sometimes the creature will grab and kill you.
5Inventory & Weight
Prioritize By Value
You will only be allowed to carry 4 items at a time. Carrying equipment will take up a slot, which in turn means you won’t be able to carry as much scrap. Bring scrap just outside the building and prioritize the importance before hauling it to the ship. Sometimes, you might not be able to make it back for the rest, so carry what is the most valuable first.
4What Happens When You Die
You & Your Team Will Be Punished
When someone dies, a varying fee will be charged when you leave the moon. The only way to avoid this is by retrieving the body and bringing it back to the ship. To retrieve bodies easily, purchase a teleporter, then switch the monitor to the person you wish to teleport.
Hit the big red button near the monitor to teleport them to the ship. Obviously, there will be some instances you will not be able to, such as if they’re eaten, fall in a hole, drown, or become stuck in quick sand. If everyone dies, you will lose any scrap you’ve collected on your person or on the ship.

3Charge Your Electronic Equipment
A Drained Flashlight Could Mean Death
The flashlights and walkie-talkies have a limited battery life. The battery gauge will be above your stamina. If your flashlight dies, you might unexpectedly run into an enemy or fall down a hole. Next to the terminal on the ship will be a yellow box on the wall that you can interact with and charge both of these items. Only one person can use it at a time, and you can recharge at any time during your mission.
2Put Someone On The Monitor
Look For Danger & Help Teammates
The monitor has two buttons on it — red and white. The white button will allow you to switch through the cameras, which is a good way to monitor other players or the ship. The red button turns the monitor off completely. The second screen will monitor the immediate area around your ship.
If you can’t hear your allies anymore, they might have died; upon death, they’re no longer able to communicate with the living team members.

Having one person stay on the ship can help the other players navigate the hallways and find more loot. If you have no walkie-talkies and the player is not moving for a while, they’re most likely dead. The brake lever allows you to land on or leave a planet.
1Purchasing Equipment Tips
Don’t Stand Under The Supply Pod
You may not get the shipment if you order supplies after landing. You will hear music when the supply pod is about to land. If you die, you will lose the equipment you purchased unless other players retrieve it.
