Despite its finale, the series continues to reach soaring heights. This is evident in the mangaka’s acknowledgmentby his contemporaries. This also extends to its impeccable animation. However, there’s a caveat to this as well.

The art misplaced and negated Choso’s character development in the series. This holds especially true with his redemption and sacrifice. Moreover, his redemption arc highlights Akutami’s brilliance as a writer. His character is a reminder of some of the best redemption arcs by the author.

Chosois one of the pivotal characters who initially appears as an antagonist. He’s also one of the most powerful characters in the manga, especially when he obliterates Yuji Itadori with hisBlood Manipulation Technique. Moreover, he’s a fleshed-out character in terms of his development. This also extends to his redemption arc in the series.

Gege Akutamimarked their brilliance through their writing of Choso’s character. Despite their initial fight, Choso grows to care for Yuji. His endearing nature is a reminder of his humanness, his affinity for brotherhood and friendship is reflected in his bond with Yuji Itadori. Despite the gruesome fight, Choso left no stone unturned, especially inprotecting his brotherin the end.

All in all, Choso remains an underrated and underappreciated character in the series. Despite his initial motives, his character development is truly impeccable. This is attributed to Akutami’s redemption of the character. Furthermore, he and Shoko Ieri are unsung characters in the series. His being misplaced as a villain was a bit cruel on the organizer’s part.
