MostNarutovillains are compelling characters, and Masashi Kishimoto gets the audience to empathize with them to some extent. We get a glimpse of the exact moment that tipped them into the darker side of things. While there are some, like Orochimaru, who have unrealistic motivations, others are just victims of their circumstances. Kishimoto generally delves into the past of all the villains, but there was one character who was killed off too soon.

There was so much more to Sasori that deserved to be explored. His character should’ve stuck around for a bit longer. From extraordinary powers to complete mastery of his forte, he exhibited potential that surpassed most Akatsuki members. For a character who was so overpowered, his role could’ve been extended.

The Many Layers to Sasori’s Character

Sasori was a sand shinobi who went rogue. Growing up, he was close to his family. However, he lost his parents early on and lived alone with his grandma. His grandma tried to teach him puppetry and being a bright child, he quickly learned everything. He used the skills to create puppets of his parents to regain their lost love.

When he realized that the puppets couldn’t replace his parents’ love, something changed inside him. He even contributed to the Third War with his puppet creations. He became more and more obsessed with the art of puppetry, aiming to create something that lasts forever. He turned many humans into puppets including his friend, the third Kazekage and himself. The only part of his body that was human was his heart.

Sakura and Grandma Chiyo defeated him by attacking him there. Fans believe that Sasori had a lot of potential and was significantly stronger than his opponents.Masashi Kishimotoruined his character by killing him too soon.

While it’s true that Sasori’s skills were almost god-tier with his mastery in puppetry, his incorporation of weaponry and deadly poisons in his puppets, and no limits to how many puppets he could control or create. There were aspects of his character that could have been delved into later on in the series. However, it might not be entirely a bad thing that Kishimoto killed him off.

Here’s Why Kishimoto’s Conclusion for Sasori Might Have Been Justified

Unlike other characters who fought to live longer or defeat their opponent, Sasori supposedly accepted his own death. His skills could easily take down both Sakura and Chiyo, but he let the last attack hit him without making an attempt to dodge it. We had seen him lose interest in nearly everything the moment he realized his parents’ puppets could not give him what he wanted.

He tried to create something that lasts forever, but he got many reminders that it simply wasn’t possible. The art he experienced through puppetry reignited some of the lost hope but he probably realized that his main goal was unattainable. This makes his end fitting after the life he had led. He was too far gone to make an attempt at redemption.

Naruto: Just Another Day How Masashi Kishimoto Failed to Write a Female Character Who Should Have Married Kakashi

It would have been interesting to see a complete character arc after everything he had experienced, but what happened wasn’t nonsensical either. This particular criticism could be a case of nit-picking, but it wouldn’t be a complete surprise if Kishimoto indeed just killed Sasori simply because he didn’t know how to develop his character.
