Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Complete Guide & Walkthrough

If you want to become a household name in 15th century Bohemia, then this guide will be essential to your rise to fame and fortune.

The first task is relatively straightforward, where the Blacksmith wants to test your skills and will ask you to forge him a sword. The next mission is a bit longer where you have to find out more about what happened to Radovan’s previous hands and the cart that they were supposed to deliver to Lord Semine.

Ask Gerda About What She Saw

But after all that, this is where things get interesting because after you complete the second task, you have to find the whereabouts of the Hermit. You need his sword to obtain the high-quality steel needed to make the wedding gift.

However, there are rumors in town about the Hermit dealing with the devil, so if you are tired of asking the villagers about what they saw, can’t find the Hermit, or are unable to get him to talk to you. Here is how you can find his sword and complete this quest.

Investigate And Dig The Grave

How To Start The Hermit Quest In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

To start this quest, you need to speak with Blacksmith Radovan after completing the mission “The Jaunt.“You can find him in his usual spot next to his forge in Tachov. Exhaust his dialogues, and he will tell you more about the Hermit from Innkeeper Betty at Troskowitz.

Fast travel to Troskowitz, talk to Betty, and tell her you need advice on the Hermit. From here, you can exhaust all her dialogues to learn more about him. Now you will have a list of optional tasks to do, which include:

Shepherd Stanislav

Out of all the optional tasks, you should prioritize talking to the witnesses Gerda and Stanislav and searching the grave.

Talk To Gerda To Find Out About The Grave

You can find Gerda in Troskowitz on a bench near the Apothecary Emerich’s yard or inside the house. She is scared out of her wits about this situation, so talking to her won’t be easy. You can either pay her 12 Groschen or pass a Speech check to get the information from her.

Use the Speech check with the highest points to have a higher chance of fighting out the truth. In this scenario, you can choose the option “Watch out, Gerda!”

Investigate The Grave

Her information leads you to a grave. you’re able to follow the marker on your map to get there. Be sure to carry aspadewith you before going there. You can skip the time so that it is night and steal it from somewhere if you come across one in your playthrough, or you could buy it from Merchant Jurg Thomel in Troskowitz.

One of the easiest places to steal a spade from is the Troskowitz cemetery. Be sure to move it to your chest at the Blacksmith and back before using it so that you don’t get caught stealing.

Getting the spade is worth it even if you have to buy it because inside the grave you find money along with some books, a letter, and a cloak.

Be wary of the wolves around the grave. Pay attention to their sounds and if you are quick to dig the grave, you may collect all the items without having to fight the wolves.

Talk To The Shepherd Stanislav

Fast travel to Apollonia, and you’re able to find the shepherd within walking distance by going southeast. Just like Gerda, Stanislav won’t talk easily.

This time, you have more options to get information from him. You can either pass the Speech checks, offer him Schnapps, or pay him 12 Groschen.

ensure you check your inventory for schnapps before offering it to him. Not having and choosing this option makes you lose your reputation.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: 15 Essential Beginner Tips

Henry’s big fall means he’s just as weak in KCD2 as in the first game, but these perks will help immensely.

Where To Find The Hermit And The Horse In KCD2?

After talking to Stanislav, you should find two new markers on your map.The one leading northeast takes you to the Horse, while the one pointing northwest leads you to the Hermit’s cabin.

Depending on the time of day when you go to the Hermit, you can find him either outside his cabin, at his desk working on something, or sleeping. Assuming he isn’t sleeping, when you try approaching him, he will yell at you to go away.

You should quickly go to him and start talking before he gets aggressive. Here, choose the option “I learned some strange things about you…” and exhaust his dialogues. He will now ask you to deliver Ambrose’s Cross to Widow Margaret, which starts the ‘A Sinful Soul’ sub-quest.

A Sinful Soul

you’re able to find Margaret at the Troskowitz Cemetary between the Troskowitz and Apollonia Fast travel points. Walk up to her and choose “I bring you absolution. (Hand over the cross)”. Talk to her, and she will ask you to help with Jan’s burial.

Now, you need to dig a grave and get Old Bones. For the grave,go towards the indicated area on your compass and choose the “Rob the grave” option. Even though it says rob, this is where you need to dig to bury the bones.

As for the Old Bones, you can find them by first plucking the red flowers outside the Graveyard and then robbing the grave.

Go back to Margaret and complete the Burial to complete this sub-quest. Once done, she rewards you with 45 Groschen and you can now return to the Hermit.

On your way back, you will encounter Knights of the Cross with the Red Star. They will ask for your help catching Konrad, the man pretending to be the Hermit.

The Knights Or The Hermit?

During your initial encounter with the knights, agree to help them. Brother Arn will ask you to set the haystack on fire so that Konrad’scrossbowbecomes useless.

After you go back, Konrad will tell you to go away. Convince him to talk to you and ask him about Ambrose’s sword.

When he warns you of no sudden movements, don’t run at him, or the Hermit will shoot you with his crossbow. If that happens, the Knights will come to attack him. So, to avoid that, slowly walk towards him.

He will tell you the sword’s location, and you’re able to hear his side of the story about why the knights want to kill him.

Now, you have the choice to either help or kill him. Here, you should choose to side with him. In terms of monetary rewards, it won’t make a difference in whom you kill. Siding with Konrad means you’re able to eliminate the knights, which means you get more bodies to loot.

Even though the fight looks like you are at a disadvantage in a 2v3, you can simply stall the enemy, and Konrad will help you out. As such, your chances of losing to the Knights are pretty low.

Remember to store extra items in your chest, as there are four bodies that you may loot here. If you already have items in your inventory, then you can choose what to loot to avoid overloading.

How To Complete The Hermit Side Quest

Completing the Hermit’s Quest requires you to find Ambrose’s broken sword. If you have completed all of the above optional tasks, you should have the sword’s location marked on your map.

If you don’t talk to the witnesses or go to the grave there is a chance the Hermit won’t talk as you won’t have enough information on him. If that happens, you can still complete the quest by pickpocketing the Diary of Konrad from him while he is sleeping at night and reading it. Alternatively, you can skip all that and go directly to the Sword’s location and collect it.

Leave the Hermit’s cabin and go west. There should be a castle in your general direction.Turn around and look for the double birch tree. Walk up to it and collect the Sword. If you have a spade on you, you can loot this grave.

Finally, all that is left to do is go back to Blacksmith Radovan and give him the broken sword. He will now tell you to forge the sword as he trusts in your skills.you’re able to find the sword in the Longswords section.

The process of forging is the same as what you did during “The Blacksmith’s Son”.

Once ready, you will get the Toledo Steel Sword. Hand it over to Radovan to get 25 Groschen and permission to come to the wedding with him.

There is still another task left to do, and that is to get suitablewedding clothes. Luckily, this part of the quest isn’t that difficult, and you just need clothes that boost your charisma. After that, you will finally get to attend the wedding.
