Kingdom Come: Deliverance2 and its predecessor are unique games compared to other contemporaries in that the world here is grounded in realism. This isn’t aWitcheror Elder Scrolls title where a medieval setting is paired with fantastic beasts and creatures to hunt down at every turn.
10 Things You Missed in The Witcher 4 Trailer
Toss a coin to your new Witcher, and all the cool details she brings along.
Still, that doesn’t stop the characters in Kingdom Come from having a real belief and fear of monsters in their tales and folklore. The Axe From The Lake is the perfect example of this.

In this task, Henry will seek to track down theAdorned Axe, which was said to have been originally gifted by a water goblin long ago to a worthy user. Here’s how to acquire this mighty weapon.
You’ll need a spade and any type of alcohol in your inventory to complete this task.

Find Quest Tipster Prochek In Tachov
To start this journey, you’ll need to locate Innkeeper Prochek in Tachov. He hangs out around the tavern as its owner and operator.
When he’s ready to pass along his information to you, his location will be designated by a “quest tipster” icon on your map, which features a blue exclamation point.

Ask him about things going on in the area, and he’ll mention that you should talk with a local simply referred to as “The Mouth,” who happens to frequent this same tavern.
From here, you should now have a regular “new quest” icon appear on your map that designates The Mouth’s location.

Speak With Zdenyek, The Mouth
Find The Mouth at the tavern, and he’ll tell you to call him his given name, Zdenyek. For the small price of any alcoholic beverage, he’ll agree to tell you a story with the theme of your choosing.
For him to give you the story needed for this particular quest, select the option “something scary.”

Zdenyek will then spin you a long tale about two woodsmen brothers, one of whom was gifted a beautiful, silver axe from a water goblin long along.
Legend has it that the brother was buried with this axe, so with some directions from Zdenyek fresh in your mind, you’re off to dig up some graves.
Track Down The Brother’s Grave
Step one of your expedition is to locate the pier in the lake that Zdenyek mentioned in his story. The search area on your map for this point of interest is massive, but just look for the pier jutting out from the shore, and you’ll have no trouble finding this location.
Once here, Henry will have some automatic dialogue to let you know you’re on the right path.
Zdenyek’s next direction was to look for a large rock in the woods, so head north and track it down. The exact location is marked on the map above.
Again, once you arrive, Henry will spout off some more dialogue to reassure you of your exploration.
Head to the next exact location on the map above, further north into the woods. Here, you’ll finally come across an unmarked grave, just like Zdenyek said you would.
With a spade in your inventory, you’re able to exhume the grave. You’ll notice a broken axe (along with some other loot), which seems to remain consistent with The Mouth’s tale.
Unfortunately, the axe is broken and unusable as a result of many years underground.
Luckily, you’re a blacksmith.
Reforge The Axe
Head back to Tachov, and you’ll now be able to forge the Adorned Axe from the blacksmithing options in Radovan’s shop. If you’re missing the additional fastening material needed for this weapon, you can buy one from Radovan for a cheap price.
Note the axe’s impressive maximum value of 699.5 Groschen, which will only actually be accurate if you do a smashing job of forging it.
This is a valuable item, and axes are nearly objectively trickier to smith than common swords. Consider saving the game with a savior schnapps for the ability to reload and try again if your crafting doesn’t go to plan.
If you’ve already worked the anvil in KCD2, nothing here should be new.
Heat the axe until it’s “straw yellow,” hammer both sides evenly at the anvil, and repeat until it’s taken shape and you’re prompted to quench and finish the piece.
Congratulations! You’ve crafted the legendary Adorned Axe, which is now yours to keep!
In addition to its high value if you crafted it well, it also can feature slash damage as high as 91.2 at a gold quality level.
Validate Zdenyek’s Tale
All that’s left to do is show the newly reforged axe to Zdenyek.
Comically, he’ll be surprised the axe really exists and explains that there are so many different versions of this tale, even he really didn’t know which (if any) were based in truth.
With that, Henry is off to more adventures.
