The battle between Marvel and DC is no longer a grand fight and hasn’t been for quite some time. Although Kevin Feige’s franchise has been failing for some time, it has been nowhere close to the lows that DC has been hitting for the past few years.

However, their future plans seem to be more than a little ambitious, with both franchises buckling in to make sure they get back to their glorious days. Amid these, there seems to be one rumor that could seriously tip the scales in James Gunn’s favor, and it has Josh Brolin at the very center.
Kevin Feige may have to watch his back
Josh Brolinhas been a beloved part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since he first appeared inThe Guardians of the Galaxy.Playing the role of Thanos, he created a memorable villain, helped make two of the most iconic Marvel films of all time, and gave some very engaging fight sequences.
Although the last time fans saw him in the franchise was at the end ofAvengers: Endgame, he has gone on to voice the character in three episodes of Marvel’sWhat If…?However, if recent speculation is to be believed, he may be switching sides and joining the DCU.

As James Gunn paves the path for a brand new DC after years of disappointment, he has certainly been making some bold and wise decisions. With this, there have also been rumors about Brolin potentially becoming involved with the franchise in the coming years.
Interestingly enough, Brolin furthered these rumors recently after he posted a fanart of himself as Darkseid on his Instagram story (viaCBR). The cherry on top was the caption of this fanart, which reported the rumors that had been floating around.

Fans have mixed feelings about Josh Brolin as Darkseid
Although Josh Brolin did not comment anything when he posted the picture on his profile, many believe it to be a confirmation that he will be entering the DCU. What makes this all the more fascinating is the fact that he could be playing the role of Darkseid, a character who is extremely similar to Thanos in many ways.
Since news of this hit the internet, many have a variety of opinions about the possibility of him playing the ruler of Apokolips. While everyone is collectively on board with the idea of him joining the franchise, many cannot help but point out that there is very little difference between his potential character in DC and the one he played in Marvel.

Tbh I think his voice fit the look of darkseid better if he was casted
He’d be great as Darkseid but that’s a little too close to Thanos. I’d say Deathstroke, Commissioner Gordan, or General Zod.pic.twitter.com/2D0MQhrN84

Slade Wilson. If not much action, Jim Gordan.
That’s cool but do we really want him to be Darkseid just right after he was Thanos? Dude should do something way different, I honestly think he’d be perfect for WildCat if they decide to do a Green Arrow and Black Canary movie

Instead, they believe that there are several other characters that he would be better suited for, ranging from Deathstroke to Jim Gordon. At the same time, there are those who believe that no one is better suited to play the role of Darkseid than Brolin, stating that he would do an excellent job as the character and there is a reason why he is considered for such characters.
Although there are many possibilities when it comes toJames Gunnand the DCU, fans certainly want to see Brolin in the franchise. Additionally, his talent and respect in the industry would certainly giveKevin Feigea run for his money.
