With fans already thrilled to see Keanu Reeves as Shadow in the upcomingSonic The Hedgehog 3film, it’s a welcome surprise to see the iconic actor making his way to voice Shadow again inSonic X Shadows Generations, which releases October 24th.
We’ve seen Keanu Reeves’s brilliant ability to play video game characters, like his mesmerizing portrayal of Johnny Silverhand inCyberpunk 2077, so it was almost fitting to see him come back to the realm of video games to voice Shadow in the latest Sonic game.

Announced in the latest PlayStationState Of Play, thisnew content with Keanu will arrive soon after Sonic X Shadow Generations on December 12 through a movie pack add-on to the base game.

Shadow is the core new addition toSonic X Shadow Generations. It emphasizes the history of Shadow the Hedgehog in the Sonic Universe, with the developers at Sonic Team themselves stating how the new game plans toshowcase Shadow’s legacy.
When it was announced thatKeanu Reeves would play Shadowin the upcoming movie, fans rejoiced as this was almost a match made in heaven.Although some said Keanu’s portrayal was him voicing Shadow as himself, it oddly fits the role.
The developers at Sonic Team plan to capitalize on this popularity by importing Reeves into the latest release. As mentioned in the trailer, the movie pack is included in the digital deluxe edition and thus may be a paid add-on for other game releases.
While the new Shadow, played by Keanu Reeves, is likely unplayable outside the new content based on how the originalGenerationsworks,it’s great to see them create entirely new areas and models inspired by the latest movie.
