He might seem like an open book with all his trump cards exposed already, but he always has some scary techniques up his sleeves to amaze his opponents. Every time Gojo steps into the battle, there’s a sense of confidence in the air, as if he has already decided the outcome of the battle in his favor. A similar display of Gojo’s confidence was visible in his recent battle with Toji Fushiguro. After the disheartening moment of Gojo’s defeat at the hands of Toji Fushiguro, the former surprised us with his well-being, coming back to life as if he was never even scratched by the latter. But that’s not all; prepared to battle again, Gojo overpowered Toji with such immense and powerful technique that the Sorcerer Killer never saw it coming, resulting in his death.
The First Introduction Of Hollow Technique: Purple
The battle with Toji Fushiguro wasn’t the first time Hollow Technique: Purple was on full-on display. If you remember the battle with Hanami in the first season, then you probably remember the sorry state that Gojo put the poor Curse into. In fact, the devastation the Hollow Technique: Purple caused at that moment was far greater than what we have witnessed in the new season.
The battle took place during the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event, where the fans were entertained by the competition between the two schools. However, the competition didn’t go as planned, and the invasion by Hanami, Mahito, and Juzo Kumiya interrupted the event.

What’s next? We were treated to a thrilling battle when Curses clashed with the Sorcerers, including the most epic showdown between Hanami and Aoi alongside Yuji. Hanami proved to be a strong opponent, but only while fighting the students. As soon as Gojo sensei entered the battle, the intensity changed, and Hanami was taken down by one swift attack by Gojo - Hollow Technique: Purple, which annihilated almost the entire surrounding area.
What Is Hollow Technique: Purple?
Gojo’s Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue works on the concept of attraction, and Cursed Technique Reversal: Red works on the concept of repulsion.Hollow Technique: Purple is a combination of both techniques that creates a ball of imaginary mass so massive that it can annihilate anything that comes its way.
It’s a unique technique that has been passed down through the Gojo clan; however, even within the Gojo family, there are very few who could actually use this technique. But as we all know Gojo, he’s the only one in four-hundred years in the Gojo family who could use both Six-Eyes and Limitless. So Gojo using Hollow Technique: Purple shouldn’t come as a surprise.

After his first confrontation with Toji, Gojo realized that winning against the Sorcerer Killer isn’t going to be easy. His lack of Cursed Energy and the Cursed Tools that could break the infinity barrier was hard to deal with, and he had to come up with something that was new for Toji. Both Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue and Cursed Technique Reversal: Red were the techniques that Toji was aware of and knew how to tackle.
That’s when Gojo used his secret technique, Hollow Technique: Purple, which was new for Toji Fushiguro and more powerful than the Red and Blue techniques. The effect of the attack was quite a lot for Toji to handle, and the attack passed through Toji, completely devouring the left side of his body.
