There have been many translation errors throughout the course ofJujutsu Kaisen.Whether it is in the manga or the anime, subtitles, and official translations mistake certain words for the most bizarre counterparts. This leads to blunders that further tamper with the lore. One such example was during the epic battle between Mahoraga and Sukuna during the second season.
Not only did the subtitles mess up Mahoraga’s name, but they also made a grave error with a much-awaited moment- the King of Curses’ domain expansion. The name provided by Gege Akutami holds strong as Malevolent Shrine. However, Crunchyroll mistakenly made it into Malevolent Kitchen. What then became a joke also led to a possible theory, one that may not be as far-fetched as it sounds.
Sukuna’s Three Big Cooking Skills
Sukuna’s ‘Malevolent Kitchen’ is perhaps the most common joke made about a mistake.Jujutsu Kaisenhas its fair share of memes, one such including the ability of the King of Curses to ‘cook’ during every battle. While the term is usually used as slang for him always being capable of fighting his opponents with ease, there are certain ways in which his abilities aren’t as far away from the skill as many think. So much so that three hidden techniques may still be under his sleeve.
Apart from eating people, the King of Curses has shown certain signs of abilities near to that of cooking. According to a theory proposed byEternal Flameon YouTube, he could develop or be hiding the ability of boiling, chopsticks, and fermentation. The first one starts off with the idea of his ability to use fire and thus create vapors, directing that steam to further burn.

Moreover, as stated by Yorozu in chapter 217, the idea of a Monkey Brain Potage isn’t too bizarre sounding for the pair. A dish that is made traditionally by boiling. During the Heian era, Chinese tea made its way into Japan, which introduced the concept of boiling water. This could mean that the character also engages in boiling water or the blood of people. That is to say, the boiling point of blood is 212 degrees Fahrenheit or 100 degrees Celsius.
The other two techniques, although less likely, include the usage of chopsticks and fermentation. Chopsticks simply incorporate the idea of holding people in place and fermentation so as to break down food. Sukuna very clearly sees people as food, seeing that human meat is his favorite to devour.

Gege Akutami’slove for Sukuna isn’t the only thing fans see from the start ofJujutsu Kaisen.His abilities that are more obvious and often shown are those of Cleave and Dismantle. When at first they could support the idea of him ‘breaking down’ a person. That is not the same as fermentation. On the contrary, there are other aspects of kitchen usage.
Cleave and Dismantle are shown more openly as a chef busy chopping up his meat in preparation. Carefully dissecting and breaking apart the people into tiny little pieces. He literally slices and dices his enemies. A perfect meal.
