Domain Expansions are at the peak ofJujutsu Kaisen’s power scale, being the strongest abilities used by only the strongest characters. Due to the overwhelming strength of these abilities, other Jujutsu sorcerers in the past needed to create a counter for Domain Expansions that could be used by those not as powerful.

Simple Domains can be used by many more sorcerers and take many different forms depending on how that character uses the Domain. While Simple Domains pale in comparison to Domain Expansions, they still have many uses.

What Are Simple Domains
Simple Domains have the same general idea as Domain Expansionsbut on a much smaller scale.While Domain Expansions can trap enemies within and cover many feet around the user,Simple Domains can usually be easily entered and exitedand often onlytake up a few feet around the user.Domain Expansions can see those within entering what looks like a new world, trapped from the outside world, while Simple Domains, when seen,often are only seen as some lines on the groundaround the user.
While Simple Domains aren’t nearly as strong as Domain Expansions, they are used by weaker sorcerers todisrupt Domain Expansions.By activating a Simple Domain within a Domain Expansion,the true-hit nature of the Domain is now interrupted.While this gives the weaker sorcerer a chance, it willoften still lead to the Domain Expansion overpowering the Simple Domainand killing the target just a few seconds later.

Simple Domains can also be used in combat,not giving the same true-hit effect but still a powerful benefit to the userwhen inside the Domain. When an enemy enters a simple domain, the user is able totarget the enemy with incredible speed,which is often used by sword-users such as Miwa.
Other Forms Of Simple Domains
Simple Domains are very versatile and have been used to handle all sorts of situations by clever sorcerers.Mechamaruwas able toapply his Simple Domain to a bullet, which was able to counter Mahito’s Cursed Technique anddamage his soul while in battle.There is also a member of the Zenin Clan who creates a simple domain that takes the appearance of a sumo ring. Their opponentmust agree to enter, and doing so will have the two fight by sumo wrestling within the domain,with time passing by much faster than usual. Other users, such as Miwa and Kusakabe, use their simple domain toactivate a quick draw technique with their swords for any enemy that enters the domain.
