This post contains major SPOILERS for Jujutsu Kaisen anime
Just a simple question to Gege Akutami from all the worldwide fans: how many more deaths are we going to witness inJujutsu Kaisen? There’s hardly any other anime series where so many major character deaths have been witnessed. Well, that’s what makes Jujutsu Kaisen so impressive and themost popular series of recent times.

Jujutsu Kaisen: 15 Strongest Curses, Ranked
The powers of Curses never fail to impress us in Jujutsu Kaisen.
While the manga fans were already prepared for Nobara’s death in this week’s episode (Season 2, Episode 19), for anime-only fans, it was amajor twist. Right after the episode aired, X (Twitter) exploded with Tweets about Nobara, with fans sharing their emotions through various means while also mentioning the huge death counts in the latest season. And if you think we have witnessed a lot, then you’re highly mistaken! What we have seen in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime adaptation is nothing compared to the shocking moments the manga has brought till now.

Jujutsu Kaisen
Nobara And Her Battle Against Mahito
With Nobara pitted against Mahito, the result of the battle was quite certain, to be honest. While Mahito remains one of thestrongest Curses of the series, Nobara is still a Grade 3 Sorcerer. However, despite knowing the risks of the battle and realizing that just a simple touch from Mahito could cost her life, Nobara jumped into the battle bravely and, for some time, even managed to stomp Mahito.
However, Mahito is not your everyday mindless Curse bestowed with supernatural powers; he fights with a plan and strategies his every move, and that’s what he did in the battle against Yuji and Nobara.

Mahito made her realize that his clone could not harm her if it touched her directly, and he used this knowledge to his advantage by charging directly at her with his real body. Nobara was under the realization that the guy approaching her was the clone, but it was Mahito’s real body instead, and with a simple touch, he killed Nobara with his Idle Transfiguration technique.
One thing that most fans might wonder would be, “Does Nobara return to Jujutsu Kaisen somehow?” or “Is she really dead?” Well, unfortunately, Nobara has died, and she never made a return to the series after this fight.
While it’s always so much fun to watch Jujutsu Kaisen, there’s a certain fear we all feel while watching the new episode, wondering if it’s going to bring another major death. If we talk about the second season alone, the death toll has skyrocketed. In Gojo’s Past Arc, we witnessed the demise of Riko Amanai and then the supposed deaths of Geto and Gojo; however, theymade it out alivesomehow.
Then, we sawToji Fushiguro bidding us farewell, and not just once, but twice. Yu Haibara, Mechamaru, and Naobito Zenin are gone too. The deaths of minor characters are countless, but Mimiko and Nanako are the significant ones – not to forget the Curses we love to hate: Dagon, Jogo, andHanami. However, the most painful deaths we witnessed were of Nanami and Nobara Kugisaki, which we can’t ever forget.
Nobara’s journey didn’t have to end this way – such jolly and full-of-life characters don’t deserve to die so soon, but that’s Jujutsu Kaisen for you, where death is as common as dust. The second season is almost close to its end, and to be honest, we are tired of getting so many heartbreaking twists. Let’s just hope we don’t have to witness any more deaths in the last remaining episodes as we bid a good farewell to this season.
