Acclaimed director Jordan Peele has provided an exciting update on his currently untitled next film project. Speaking on a recent podcast visit, Peele suggested the secretive horror outing has the potential to be his new favorite if executed properly, raising anticipation for the Oscar winner’s highly-awaited follow-up to 2022’sNope.
Initially slated to begin production last year for a late 2024 release, Peele’s fourth directorial effort was delayed by industry strikes. But now, after a year spent fine-tuning the concept, the reenergized filmmaker enthusiastically teased the developing film as a new passion project brimming with possibility.

“This has been…obviously, it’s been an interesting year because the writer’s strike had had me in a state of listening, and that’s where I need to be,”he explained.“I do feel like my next project is clear to me, and I’m psyched that I have another film that, you know, could be my favorite movie if I make it right.”
So while firm details remain under wraps, it’s clear Peele has used the unexpected production delay to refine his vision and is now more energized than ever to bring this compelling new idea to life.

Peele broke out with gripping and socially conscious horror tales likeGet Out, Us,andNope. But he hasn’t pigeonholed himself to just one genre, also co-writing the action comedyKeanu.When recently asked about future projects, Peele responded:
“I always have something I’m working on that I’m trying to figure out. As time goes by, the world gives me awfulness to interpret.”
So, while he may return to thought-provoking horror, Peele clearly wants to continue exploring the modern world through whichever genre best suits the story. Audiences will have to wait a bit longer to discover exactly what he has in store next.
