Legendary actress and filmmaker Jodie Foster has won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series for her role inTrue Detective: Night Country. The two-time Academy Award winner joined the anthology series that first starred Matthew McConaughey, with a new season set in Alaska.

She also mentioned that they had been living together for fourteen years. Later, in 2013, Foster came out at the Golden Globes. She said,
Seriously, I hope that you’re not disappointed that there won’t be a big-coming-out speech tonight because I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago back in the Stone Age. But now apparently, I’m told that every celebrity is expected to honor the details of their private life with a press conference … that’s just not me.

Despite public and tabloid compulsion to get her to talk about her s*xuality for a quick headline, Foster seemed to have come out on her own terms.
