Graham McTavish Defends Liam Hemsworth Against Bashers
Graham McTavish portrayed Sigismund Dijkstra inThe Witcher, and as an alum of the franchise, he has worked with bothHenry CavillandLiam Hemsworth. Commenting on the switching of actors, he compared it with legacy characters such as James Bond and Doctor Who in an interview withThe Nerd ShepherdviaWhat’s on Netflix:
James Bond has been played by seven different actors, and people still love it because the core of a James Bond film, I think, is the same as The Witcher. It’s like Doctor Who. It doesn’t seem to have been impacted.

Indeed, James Bond has been around for decades and many actors have stepped in his shoes through the years. FromSean ConnerytoPierce Brosnan, and now toDaniel Craig– the whole fan base did not protest and the franchise remained alive and strong as ever. In fact, it allowed them to explore the life of the British spy agent more through the different capabilities of the actors.
McTavish said that it is about being true to the world ofThe Witcher, and it does not matter who plays the role. “As long as the actor is good, and the scripts remain good… the transition will be very, very seamless,” he remarked.

TheHouse of the Dragonactor also commended Hemsworth for being a joy to work with. He said the show is very lucky to have known both Cavill and theHunger Gamesstar, and he promised there are more things in store for fans.
