Helldivers 2is one of the best live service games available and the gaming community has some wild suggestions that could improve or ruin the game. Other major multiplayer games have emphasized cosmetic items and some of them have taken it too far.
Other live service games featured some iconic cosmetic items inspired by other franchises and not everyone was a fan of it. It takes away the sense of realism and breaks the immersion or illusion the developers have intended, which is probably why Johan Pilestedt is protective of the brand.

Perhaps Arrowhead Game Studios can design a new set of armor with a color scheme that pays homage to suit armors to appeal to those who want one. The game has a rare and unique design that should not be tampered with especially if the developers does not see it fit.
Not all games needs to be the same or similar, that would result in a familiar gaming experience which is not good for business. Arrowhead Studios wanted the game to standout and it succeeded marvelously.
The gaming community needs to ease up on the requests and demands. The developers can only do so much with all the pressure breathing down their necks to try and please the player base.
