The Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni controversy has the entire world in a chokehold. Ever since the release ofIt Ends With Usand the shocking lawsuit by the actress, everyone has their two cents on the whole mess. While some are on Blake Lively’s side, some are passionately supporting Justin Baldoni. All in all, it is safe to say that the Internet is divided.

Given the popularity of their case, it really does remind us of the time when Amber Heard and Johnny Depp were battling it out in court. This brings us to a question many have had for a while now – when will the trial take place and will we get to watch it unfold?
When will Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s trial take place?
It all began whenBlake Livelyfiled a lawsuit against theIt Ends with Usdirector and her co-star,Justin Baldoni. In her lawsuit, she accused the actor of s*xual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign against her. Since then, Baldoni has come out with his own side of the story, delivering receipt after receipt.
He also filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against The New York Times and a whopping $400 million one against Livelyand her husband,Ryan Reynolds.

As more and more developments are being made in the controversy, people are starting to wonder just when the two actors will finally stand against each other in court. Well, it looks like we have a date.
According toPEOPLE, both cases in ‘Lively v. Wayfarer Studios et al,’ are scheduled to go to trial on June 08, 2025, as outlined by Judge Lewis J. Liman. Moreover, the pre-trial conference to discuss Lively’s request for a gag order to be placed on Baldoni’s lawyer (Bryan Freedman) will take place on June 29, 2025, as opposed to the original date, February 12.

Will the trial be televised?
After what happened in 2022 withAmber HeardandJohnny Depp, it was natural for people to believe that Baldoni and Lively’s trial could also be televised for public viewing. After all, their case has been pretty out in the open since the beginning.
However, attorney Gregory Doll (Doll Amir & Eley in Los Angeles), who is representing neither of the two parties, strongly believes that there is minimal to zero chance that the trial will be televised.

For starters, Doll believes that Baldoni and Lively will reach a settlement before they can even head out to court next year, as is common in many civil cases.

He said,“Ninety-two percent of all civil cases settle, so odds are overwhelmingly that the case will settle.”Doll also stated that the chances of the trial, if it happens, being televised are extremely slim. In his words (viaPEOPLE),“By filing in federal court, they foreclosed the possibility that there will be any cameras in the proceedings.” As per the legal expert, the Heard-Depp trial was a“rare exception.”
However, he does acknowledge the fact that there is a long way to go before the case reaches its end. He fully believes that things are“going to get nastier”with time and both sides are“going to have to pay a lot of money”and deal with a“lot of emotional turmoil.”

Well, there is nothing left for us to do but wait for another update on their case now!
