For anyone who has playedThe Last of Usfranchise, it’s not just its brutal post-apocalyptic world or turning into one of the infected that keeps players up at night, it’s the possibility that there could be a chance of it happening, in reality, is what makes our toes curl. Granted, there’s very little chance, of course, that we will just wake up one day and the planet will be filled with savage fungus-invested zombies looking to tear our flesh out, but we could, in reality, find ourselves face-to-face with a mushroom-filled frog that wasrecently discoveredin India.
This interesting, and also a little disturbing news, has allowed The Last of Us fans' minds to jump down rabbit holes and slightly panic at the idea that the game is finally now getting a real-life release.

The Last Of Us Season 2 Set Photos Give A Glimpse Into Iconic Scene
As production begins on Season 2, more and more set photos are emerging online.
The Last of Us Part 3: Real Life Special Edition
In India, a golden-backed frog has been observed with a tiny mushroom growing out of its side. This sight, which had never been documented before, gives players major flashbacks to the documentary played on Joel’s bedroom TV at the start of The Last of Us, which was a real fungus that exists in nature referred to as the “zombie-ant fungus” because it primarily infects ants and other insects.
Another reason why this mushroom frog is even eerier than it already is, and freaking fans out, is that in HBO’s The Last of Us,the infection steamedfrom ingredients like flour or sugar in Jakarta, Indonesia, and began spreading throughout the rest of the world as the produce was shipped out. In regard to the mushroom frog, it was also found in Asia, specifically Karnataka, India, where both countries share close cultural and commercial contacts, as well as an ocean.

A few of the comments on The Last of UsReddit postare a bit of a mixed bag between either completely panicking about the possibility that this is now the start of it all by inserting The Office GIF “Oh my god, it’s happening”, while another commenter posts a simple image of epidemiologist, Dr. Neuman, from HBO’s The Last of Us with his chilling yet accurate speech about the prospect of a viral pandemic.
One comment simply read “Bomb”, which is a throwback toIbu Ratnawho was a professor of mycology and was brought in by the local government for her expertise on fungus, but when learning about the actual devastation the virus had caused, her advice was to “Bomb” the entire city with everyone in it. Maybe just a wee bit dramatic over a frog with a mushroom on it!

Probably one of the cutest, if there is cuteness in all of this, is someone commenting on the adorable piano frog from TLOU show, but now it has a little mushroom on it. Although still a very strange occurrence when you actually connect the two. Either way, here’s hoping our world isn’t coming to an end due to the frog-zombie-apocalypse, because how would we all playThe Last of Us Part 3then??
