During an exclusive interview withReal Sound, the voice actor sympathized with the rebellious spirit ofSung Jinwoo. However, he cleared out how the character’s hunger to“hunger to simply become stronger, and his dry feeling”was what lured him to audition for the role.
Ban-San continued how he gave the audition, thinking that he would not have another chance to showcase his talents. He said,

As for the changes in Shun’s voice, I myself have a wide vocal range and I thought that was one of my strengths, so I went into the role with a back-to-the-wall attitude, thinking, “If I can’t show it at this audition, I probably won’t have another chance to show it in the future,” and “If I don’t get the role here, it might be all over for me.
With such fierce determination and connection towards the E-Rank Hunter, Saka Taito easily bagged the character’s role. In the process, he won the admiration of his co-voice actor, Reina Ueda.

Reina Ueda, who voices the character of Cha Hae-in in the series, was also present alongside the actor in the interview. Thus, the interviewers asked her about the changes that her co-star made to make the character more appealing to the viewers.
The voice actress explained how interpreting the actor’s comments, he has been“carrying a lot of stuff inside,”which moved her into thinking how “flawless he was. She further added,

There wasn’t really any sense of incongruity, like you would feel anger here, or give up here. Listening to Mr. Saka’s voice, I was really moved by the idea that emotions just naturally overflow.
That was not all because she picked up a thing or two from Ban-San, which included him making changes according to the character’s physique. She said,
I felt that the changes in Shun’s voice due to his changes in physique were also technically adjusted. It was a lot of fine-tuning, taking into account things like Shun’s posture when he was talking, how much of his body he was using, how much muscle he had, how tall he was, and so on, to change the lightness and depth of his voice.
Ueda-San was mesmerized by this skill, and every time that she witnessed these subtle changes, she got more and more impressed by how detail-oriented Taito Ban had been towards the character.
