The AcolyteWas No Walk in the Park For Manny Jacinto

Recently,Manny Jacintogave an interview withEntertainment Weekly, where he talked about what it was like for him to work onThe Acolyte. Additionally, he mentioned just how rigorous his training was to do his role justice. Even though he wears a mask that covers his face, the majority of the fights were executed by Jacinto himself, not a stunt double.

I had almost four months to train for that flight scene,

This was quite a bold decision, however, the actor seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He started by revealing that he started training four months before the main fight scene. This was the first time I really got to dig into something with so much action and really make use of my dance background. We worked on everything. We did boxing, we worked on kicks, we worked on all the choreography. It was tough. They conditioned my body so that I could get through this five-person fight scene.

Using these talents, he also learned how to box, and professionally worked on his kicks to make sure that everything was perfect. Naturally, the entire process was no walk in the park. However, he taught his body well enough that he was able to perfectly run through the fight, fending off five people seamlessly.

Fans Are Impressed

Despite all of the criticism thatThe Acolytehas received after Manny Jacinto revealed his training process, many fans are impressed. That’s so much fucking cooler. Nothing but respect to stunt people, and it would have been easy to swap one in with a mask on for the majority of it.

But the actor putting in the work and getting it done on screen like that, makes me appreciate the final product even more.
