It’s been almost three years, and three years in this day and age seems like ancient history to most due to our lives becoming fast-paced. And yet still, Netflix’sSquid Gamesremains fresh in the minds of the audience. Seeing the unprecedented success of the Korean series, David Fincher was appointed by Netflix in the past to create a more streamlined version of the show for Western audiences.

But despite this news being reported quite a while ago, not a lot of new information has come out of it, especially not from Fincher’s side. But just recently, industry insider Jeff Sneider, who has been following these developments closely, revealed that the filmmaker was still working on this project behind closed doors, and fans are not impressed with his decisions.

Expectations are made to be surpassed, which is something accepted welcomely by the audience every single time, and almost three years ago,Squid Gamesmanaged to do the same, becoming a worldwide sensation overnight due to its exceptional execution. Thus, to recreate the same magic, Netlfix thought of bringing in filmmakerDavid Fincherto remake this beloved series, specifically to appeal to Western audiences.

So far, Sneider has claimed that the project is still in development, which is at least a confirmation that it’s still going to be made in the future. It was also reported previously that this version will focus more on a setting based in the United States or North America in general, which will make it a wider appeal for Western audiences and make it a more unique project in general.

Despite this, fans are not convinced by the news, saying that this is unnecessary at best and calling out the filmmaker to create the third season ofMindhunterinstead.
