Once you’ve found a disguise, you can switch freely between the Adventurer’s Outfit and, for example, the Clerical Outfit, and it allows you to go out and not be attacked by the enemies that are out there or to be able to access areas that you otherwise couldn’t.

…You still need to be a little bit careful though because there are people who can see through your disguise, but it becomes an interesting gameplay option.
