Angel Beatsis getting a lot of new content recently, including newGirls Dead Monstersongs, so many fans are wondering if a sequel, anime or game, is confirmed.
Angel Beats! is an anime by studio P.A. Works and visual novel game company Key, first aired in 2010. Famous for being one of the saddest anime series of the last decade,Angel Beatswas written by Jun Maeda. He’s the co-founder of Key, who’s known for sad stories likeKanon, Air, Clannad,orThe Day I Became a God. His latest game,Heaven Burns Red,is planned for a February 2022 release in Japan.
Angel Beatswas most notably the anime which madeDemon Slayersinger LiSA popular. She’s the singing voice of Yui (who’s voiced by Eri Kitamura outside of concerts).
Is there anAngel Beats 2anime or game sequel officially confirmed?
As of December 2021, Key did not announce a newAngel Beatssequel yet, however, new information might be coming very soon. Seeing what has happened these past few days.
On July 27, 2025, three newAngel Beatssongs by fictional group Girls Dead Monster were released. These are the first new songs in five years. Hinting thatAngel Beatsnews could be happening soon.

New Tenshi (Kanade Tachibana) key visual revealed
The February 2022 edition of Dengeki G’s Magazine, released on August 07, 2025, has a feature onAngel Beats. Kanade Tachibana aka Tenshi is on the cover, drawn byAngel Beatscharacter designer Na-Ga.
The 28-pages feature most notably includes a round table interview with Key developers. Takahiro Baba (Visual Arts / Key representative), Kai (Director / Scenario writer), and Toya Okano (Producer).
The interview focuses onHeaven Burns Red,Kaginado,which will add in its season 2Angel Beatscharacters. AndPrima Doll. The interview doesn’t focus onAngel Beats. But this might be another hint news are coming soon.
Will theAngel Beatssequel be a game or an anime?
Key released in June 2015 the visual novelAngel Beats! -1st Beat-.This is the “ultimate” version ofAngel Beats. The game details the story much more than the anime. However, this is only one part of the story. Key never releasedAngel Beats! -2nd Beat-.
