Following today’s surprisingannouncementthat Insomniac Games founder Ted Price is retiring, more news surrounding the studio’s future has surfaced, and it’s one that many video game companies are doing.
Speaking to entertainment ragVariety, Insomniac Games co-chief Ryan Schneider said the studio is looking to adapt more of its games into films and TV shows.

Schneider notes, “I think back to the ‘Ratchet & Clank’ film from several years ago. And we kind of got an early start on that. So, of course, we’re interested in that kind of thing. We love ‘Ratchet & Clank’ in particular."
The exec was referring to the 2016 Ratchet & Clank film, which not only flopped at the box office but was also panned by critics due to its inconsistent pacing and mediocre plot.
With Sony’s massive success withHBO’s The Last of UsTV series, it’s no wonder the company is pushing for more of its first-party brands to be adapted to the big and small screen. Just recently, Sonyannounced that a film based on Helldivers 2is in production.
