WithBattlefield V’sBattle Royale mode on the horizon, some fans of the game may be concerned that series developer DICE may focus more on the upcoming new game mode as opposed to the game’s base multiplayer component. When one fan pleaded with the studio to not completely drop the game’s multiplayer component viaTwitter, DICE has this to say:
“We are Battlefield first, Royale is an addition to the Battlefield experience. As we move forward, Multiplayer remains a core focus.”

Some have speculated that theBattlefield VBattle Royale mode may be too late to release in the wake of Respawn Entertainment’sApex Legends;which has seentremendous successsince it launched on February 4. It’s a bit odd that EA would release two Battle Royale experiences so close to one another but the company’s CEO Andrew Wilson thinks that the two titleswon’t competewith one another.
However, I’m personally getting war flashbacks to oneBattlefield 1launched just days before Respawn Entertainment’sTitanfall 2.Both games are excellent first-person shooters but Respawn’s CEO and co-founder Vince Zampella thinks the game should’vesold better. While I’m hoping that history doesn’t repeat itself, the Battle Royale genre is already a pretty crowded market so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next.

Earlier this week, DICE added thegame mode Rushwhich has been aBattlefieldseries staple for a long while. Players have the chance to hop into the mode for a limited time only as it’ll leave the game by March 20. So hop into it while you still have the chance.
Battlefield Vlaunched on November 20 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game’s Battle Royale mode has been a long time coming after it was announced atE3 2018and later revealed to be coming months after the game would officially launch in afree update.
