As a live-service game,XDefiantis a title that will constantly evolve to maintain its large player base and establish it as the genuineCall of Duty “killer.”Despite its flaws, players are excited for the future of this game.

Since its release, Ubisoft has been working to consistently deliver updates to the game, which have brought tons of new things. However, it’s mind-boggling how the free-to-play shooter is lacking a core genre feature that has become a staple in recent years to help gamers enhance their skills.
XDefiant Still Does Not Have a Killcam Feature
It’s a known fact that the killcam feature in any shooter title is essential for enhancing gameplay and strategy. This feature allows gamers to check the moment they were knocked out and offer insight into their enemy’s tactics and positioning. It’s a perfect way to identify your mistakes, adapt to new strategies, and learn from others!
Just Like Helldivers 2’s Major Orders, XDefiant is Struggling to Engage Enough Players to Get Anywhere Near Completing Its Community Orders
Unfortunately, for some odd reason, Ubisoft launchedXDefiantwithout a killcam feature. Players on Reddit want an outright explanation from Ubisoft as to why the feature was skipped over in favor of additions that simply don’t add anything to gameplay.
It’s just shocking; every other shooter on the market brings a killcam as a standard feature at launch. Sure, the game is built on a different engine, and it takes time to develop a few features. however, the game has been in development since 2021 and has even had multiple beta testing rounds.

It’s not that hard to give players a few-second shots of their in-game deaths. Although it’s confirmed that the killcam feature will soon be a thing of the future,Ubisoft must bring such core featuresto the game as soon as possible.
The interest in the game would undoubtedly start to wane away, and the game’s whole objective of becoming the face of the shooter genre would fail terribly.

The Ubisoft Team is Working on Bringing XDefiant Killcams
XDefiant’s executive producer, Mark Rubin, who many might recall from Infinity Ward, has been quite active on social media, chatting about the game’s future and interacting with fans. With constantXDefiantupdates, Ubisoft is trying to resolve various technical issues and help people with their gameplay.
“So much for anti-cheat”: XDefiant has Followed in Call of Duty’s Footsteps as the Anti-Cheat Can’t Keep Up with Hackers Ingenuity
When one fan directly asked Rubins if killcams were coming toXDefiant, he indicated that his team was“working on it”. However, we weren’t given a solid release date.
Working on it.
The killcam feature could be crucial forXDefiant’s future, as it’s a free-to-play title that automatically lures in less-than-desirable cheaters and hackers.
While cheating is quite common in F2P games such asThe Finals, andCall of Duty: Warzone, Ubisoft is trying to solve this problem by using the BattleEye anti-cheat system.

We’ve seen the studio using the system in its other games, such asRainbow Six: Siege. Unfortunately,it clearly hasn’t worked forXDefiant, as every other game is plagued by cheaters. Let’s hope Ubisoft also brings an effective anti-cheat in the future.
What other features Ubisoft must bring with the nextXDefiantpatch? Let us know in the comments.
