Jeremy Clarkson starred in his documentary series,Clarkson’s Farm,which released its first season in 2021. The show chronicled his effort in running a 1,000-acre farm in the Cotswolds. Audiences were intrigued by his story and supported the show. The second season was released last year, peeling the layers and showing the various setbacks he faced while structuring his ideal farm.

In a new interview withThe Times, Clarkson revealed that life as a farmer is not easy and he constantly faces opposition from the local government. However, he is inspired byYellowstone,Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, and the family’s deadly way of dealing with people who try to cross them.
Shockingly, Clarkson stated that he is obsessed with how the Duttons get rid of their opposition by killing them gruesomely. He watched those scenes a lot, inspiring him to fight for his dreams and not let authority come in between. He said,
“I’ve been watching Yellowstone. When someone displeases them, they murder them, take them across the state line, and throw them in a ravine. I’ve been looking at that scene a lot.”

Further proof of Clarkson’s commitment to his farm was shown in season 2 of the show where Clarkson had a conflict with the West Oxfordshire district council. who refused his application to build a car park (viaDeadline). His determination and resilience led to the UK government introducing Clarkson’s law which enabled farmers to modify and make changes to existing infrastructure without obtaining permission from the council.

He stated that he put everything he has learned in his career into the film and he struggled a lot while making sure that the film turned out as he envisioned it. He shot the first film (he’s planning three more sequels) in 52 days which is a huge feat, considering the scale of the film. He said,
“This is by far the biggest struggle. I’m shocked at what we were able to get. I shot ‘Dances’ for 106 days, I shot the movie you’re just seeing right now in 52. … I did learn a lot and I was able to use every trick in the book to try to bring this movie to ground and to bring it to an audience. And there’s four of them!”
The trailer of the first film intrigued fans and they are looking forward to what Costner is offering with his passion project. The first two chapters of this epic saga are set to release this year.
Chapter 1 ofHorizon: The American Sagawill be released in theaters on June 18, 2025, while Chapter 2 will be released on August 02, 2025.
