Shark Tank, with its amazing business deals and investment knowledge on offer, has truly revolutionized the reality television genre. From the most famous judge Mark Cuban to the no-nonsense attitude of Kevin O’Leary, the show manages to keep everyone hooked with its premise. As these people are at the top of their fields, it’s safe to wonder what their opinions about the entire work-from-home concept are.

In this, O’Leary has been the most accepting of the model, adding how it creates value for the organization as well as the employees. But on the other hand, Barbara Corcoran has a different take on this and believes that work should be done from the office, not from the comfort of a person’s couch.
Why Is Barbara Corcoran Against Work From Home?
Barbara Corcoranis a big name in the real estate world, and her popularity reached an all-time high when she joinedShark Tankin 2009. While she may have thelowest net worthout of the lot, she still managed to land somegood dealsin the show. On the professional front, she founded the Corcoran Group in 1973 and has managed thousands of employees.
So, just like otherShark Tankjudges even she took a stance on the ongoing debate about remote work. In an interview viaiHeart’s Way With Angela Yeepodcast, Corcoran showcased her skepticism on the modern shift in office culture. While she has adjusted to changes in the workplace and is supportive of hybrid work models, she made it clear that she prefers her employees to be physically present in the office.

The venture capitalist added“Whether people are more productive at home – I’m not sure I’m buying it as a boss. When I’m in (the office), I like my people in.”Despite her reservations, she did acknowledge that many employees might prefer to work from home for personal reasons. She added“I get it. Why would you want to get in a car and go to work and waste all that time going in just to go home again?”

However, Barbara Corcoran still remained firm in her belief that the office environment plays a very important role in maintaining a productive team. She adds that if her employees are present in the office then it keeps everyone’s energy levels up and the work more focused.
While this was Barbara Corcoran’s view on the setup, in another interview Kevin O’Leary detailed why he feels work from home is effective.

Kevin O’Leary and Barbara Corcoran Take Opposing Sides When It Comes to Work From Home
The work-from-home model has sparked strong opinions from some of the most well-known names in the business industry. After Barbara Corcoran, even Elon Musk did not shy away from the subject and even went as faras to call it“morally wrong.”However, Kevin O’Leary has firmly taken a different side from this and talked about the benefits of remote work.
In an interview viaBusiness Insider, the venture capitalist shared his perspective on the remote work trend and added that this practice is not only ethical but also a cost-saving strategy.Kevin O’Learysaid “you’re able to’t tell me this doesn’t work”talking about the significant financial boost since more employees transitioned to work from home.

He also mentioned that after the pandemic his businesses have enjoyed a 20% increase in pre-tax cash flow. On the same subject, he also added“In fact, I want to do more of this because I’m reducing my costs of real estate.”This surely proves that despite his admiration for Elon Musk, O’Leary takes a different stand when it comes to the remote working model.
