Seinfeldis considered as one of NBC’S best sitcoms; it ran from 1989 to 1988 for a total of nine seasons. The geniuses behind the hilarious show were comedians Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld. Fans of the show have been desperately waiting for the creators to produce something new.
But sadly, Jerry Seinfeld, the iconic man behind the sitcom that bears his name, has retired his pen. The comedy legend revealed one sad reason, because of which he might never be able to make anotherSeinfeld. Though disappointing, he does make a valid point.

In a recent interview with SiriusXM’sThe Howard Stern Show,Jerry Seinfeldrevealed a shocking reality forSeinfeldfans. The comedian said he won’t appear in another show because of one natural reason, his age.
I don’t like seeing old people on TV. I don’t want to inflict myself on people in a deteriorated state.
He further discussed the impact of the show and how it was a cultural phenomenon that captured the hearts of millions of people. On being asked why they didn’t renew the show for another season, Seinfeld replied honestly- it was time.
The love affair between the people that were making the and the audience was so intense, so white hot, I had to respect that. I could not go to that point where it starts to age and wither.
In an era of reboots and revivals, the actor has chosen to let his past glory remain there, in the past. He described the show as a perfect storm, one that can’t be replicated, its influence still resonating today.
I’m not arrogant and stupid enough to think I did that,I know that I got caught in a, you know what we call, the perfect storm.
The actor is content with his legacy and isn’t one to relive the past; perhaps this stroke of lightning can’t strike again. While he may be done with sitcoms, he’s still got plenty of tricks up his sleeves with his new stand-up special,23 Hours to Kill.

On being asked by thehostabout the monetary benefit of adding one more season to the hit sitcom, Seinfeld disagreed. He said that while he might have earned millions and more, it wouldn’t satisfy him creatively.

The actor-comedian further went on to state that they could never beat the legacy the show had created. It required a lot of time, effort, and just a bit of luck to create such gold.It is also the reason he never created another, he told Stern (viaPeople).
That’s why I obviously never did another TV series. I’m not going to try and beat that. I can’t beat that.
So though we might never get another show likeSeinfeld, its legacy will forever live on. The comedian is a genius who had the perfect timing, not only when it came to his jokes but also on when to end the show gloriously.
