It’s been five years sinceMarvel’s Cloak & Daggerwas canceled by Freeform after two seasons, and the rumors of a series revival have started to gain momentum again. There was not much news on the series after it was scrapped, but an insider has provided an insight as to the fate of the show.
Cloak & Daggerwas well-received by fans after the first installment aired in 2018, but the sequel proved to be a hit-and-miss as viewership dropped tremendously. While this is not entirely the reason why it was never renewed, ratings play a big part in a franchise’s life.

I have heard nothing on Cloak and Dagger appearing in the MCU as of yet.
While this sounds pretty disappointing, there is still a possibility that Marvel Studios will pick this up for later. At the timeCloak & Daggerwas canceled, there was a shift in management as Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb stepped down to make way forKevin Feige.
The former was a producer of the show, and with his departure perhaps came the pulling of the plug for the series.Cloak & Daggerstar Gloria Reuben shared her frustration over the show’s abandonment viaComicBook:
I was hoping that we would get at least another couple of seasons because it was on point. It wasn’t just, again, honoring the comic book relationships, but it just, it brought into it current-day ideas… I don’t know who made the decision, but it’s obviously completely out of my hands.
The shelving of the series had something to do with Marvel properties migrating to Disney+ at the time. Opting not to renew the show which starredOliva HoltandAubrey Josephwas a decision made to mark a fresh start for the studio.

It could also mean that the project did not fit into Feige’s massive calendar plan for the small screen. Fans may have to face the harsh reality that some shows are not as big of a priority as others.

This confirms thatCloak & Daggeris part of the MCU and may get resurrected in the future. In fact, there is a huge possibility that the characters may appear inCaptain America 4due to the presence of Roxxon.
