Now that the drama around the show has started to arise again, Ferreira has finally given her side of the story. What the actress had to say was certainly an interesting perspective on the entire situation, even explaining her exit from the third season of the series.

Barbie Ferreira Clears the Air

Recently, Barbie Ferreira gave an interview on theArmchair Expert with Dax Shepardpodcast, where she addressed every aspect of her alleged drama withEuphoriacreator,Sam Levinson. There were reports (viaThe Independent) that the actress was having very vocal fights with Levinson on the set of the second season, which resulted in her exit from the third.

I kind of got sucked into this drama that I never asked to be in and that I’ve never talked about. I’m of the mindset that if it doesn’t exit I’m not going to address it because then I’m adding fuel to it. It’s taken on a life of its own. Don’t believe everything you read.

“She wants to be able to play s*xy parts too”: Barbie Ferreira’s Weight Loss After Quitting Euphoria is a Bold Attempt to Save Her Career, But Did She Use Ozempic?

Ferreira mentioned that she was always looked at as a victim in the entire situation when she never asked to be put into such a narrative. She stated that she was put in the center of a drama that she never asked to be a part of, something that has caused her great turmoil. She then mentioned that she did not want to comment on it to fuel it more; however, the rumors got out of hand in her eyes.

I actually did not walk off set. I did sprain my ankle once and had to go get an X-ray. Maybe that’s what they mean?

There were even rumors that she had screaming fights with the creator that resulted in her leaving the set by the end of it. Ferreira addressed these as well, stating that all of these were entirely untrue. She added that had once sprained her foot and had to leave the set; however, that was in no way due to this rumored feud.

Barbie Ferreira and Sam Levinson Could Not Understand Each Other?

Barbie Ferreirafurther talked about her character, stating that she had great love for Kat and knew that she met a lot of people, including herself. However, she believed that there weren’t a lot of places that her storyline could have gone. More specifically, the actress believes that Kat had a lot of directions that she could have gone. However, they would not have fit very well withEuphoria’sstory as a whole.

I think my character, who I love so dearly, I don’t think there was a place for her to go. I think there were places she could have gone. I just don’t think it would have fit into the show. I don’t know if it was going to do her justice, and I think both parties knew that. I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend. I don’t want to play that, and I think they didn’t want that either.

Although the actress is greatly appreciative of getting the opportunity to play Kat, she mentioned that she did not think that anything they could have come up with could have done justice to her character. Ferreira made sure to bring Levinson out of this unscathed, explaining that they both tried their best to navigate her storyline but kept hitting walls.

I don’t know, I just felt like maybe, it’s like I overstayed my welcome a little bit. So for me, it actually felt good to be like, okay, I get to not worry about this, and we both don’t get to worry about this.

She did not want her character’s body and body image issues to be the center of her arc and it would seem that this would not have worked well in the grand scheme of things. Ferreira even mentioned that, although Levinson does an excellent job with the characters he can relate to, she believes that the creator found her not to be relatable for him personally.

Sam writes for like things that he relates to. I don’t think he relates to Kat. I relate to Kat. So I go on my own path. And at first, I was like, oh my God, I’m a flop. I’m a loser. It really has been a good thing.

This may be controversial in the eyes of many fans, as her arc in the first season was extremely good and also written by Levinson. Although the actress alluded to the fact that her departure from the series was mutual and amicable, there are many ways that Ferreira’s response can be interpreted. While some might look at this as a confirmation of their feud, some may take her comments at face value.
