Band of BrothersEpisode 5, titledCrossroads, sawJimmy Fallonmaking his entrance at the end of the scene. Playing Lieutenant George C. Rice, the actor drives an old jeep with ammunition for Easy Company. He delivers the items and warns the troop about the enemies, then later drives off.

Viewers wouldn’t be able to tell that he was nervous for the part that he had trouble driving the jeep. In an episode ofThe Tonight Show, he reminisced about his acting stint and said (viaParade):
That episode was directed by Tom Hanks, and I was so nervous. I had to just drive a jeep and say my line, ‘Good luck, boys.’ It’s a real WWII jeep, so you’ve got to, like, press the thing, put it in neutral. I don’t know how to drive. And I just say my line, and I’m supposed to look really heroic.
Fallon admitted that he did not know how to drive the vehicle and he needed the help of two men to push it forward as he dropped his dialogue.
I’m so nervous. There’s like 200 extras. So I drive, I hit my spot. I go, ‘Good luck, boys’ and I forget to press the clutch, and these two dudes are pushing the car, and the wheels aren’t moving because the clutch isn’t in. I don’t know how they made it work, but they made it work.
While the behind-the-scene did not look heroic at all, he managed to pull off his character and successfully deliver his lines. After all, the series is deemed as somewhat an accurate representation of historical events.

Why Jimmy Fallon Quit Acting
Fallon had a brief yet unforgettable acting career. While he did enjoy the journey, he realized it was not appealing to him (viaRolling Stone):
Movies are hard, man – I really don’t like doing movies. You sit in a trailer and you have makeup on and you just wait – then they’re like, ‘You’ve got to come out and be funny,’ and you do a scene and go back and wait again for the next scene, and you’re there 15 hours.
He soon discovered he was more passionate about hosting and entertaining people because of his experience inSaturday Night Live. Fallon said he prefers the “immediacy” of actions in presenting in contrast with acting.
