Bloodborneis one of the finest games from veteran developer Hidetaka Miyazaki. The game was released back in 2015 as a PlayStation exclusive and has since been an important addition to the world of Soulslike games, a sub-genre facilitated by the likes of Miyazaki.

Bloodborneis a hunter’s journey into the land of dreams revolving around the blood of nameless Great Ones, that are unique creatures desperate for reproduction and multiplication. However, each Great One is unique and has different characteristics, which makes it difficult for them to reproduce, and hence they gaze upon the likes of mortal men for reproduction. This is one of the central conflicts in the game.
People Are Dying To Witness The Rebirth ofBloodborne
Bloodbornedoes not leave much scope for a sequel, much like other Soulslike from FromSoftware under the command of Miyazaki. The game’s narrative structure is built to provide a highly customizable experience with multiple endings depending on the approach you take for your journey in the game.
Much likeDark Souls, which has 3 parts, a sequel toBloodbornewill not be able to build upon the story of the first game as it feels fulfilled in itself. However, if there were to be a sequel to the game, it could take a similar approach to that ofDark Souls 2.

Dark Souls 2was criticized for not acknowledging the events that transpired in the first part. It stands alone as a completely separate entity. This is one of the major reasons whyDark Souls 3is actually considered the sequel of the first game since it has a lot of references from the first part.
Bloodbornecould build upon the slate created by theDark Souls’sequels sinceBloodborneis set in a dreamlike world capable of many interpretations.

Bloodborne 2‘s Dreams Could Become A Reality
However, given the game’s completeness, it would not be an easy task to come up with a narrative for a sequel. There could be a story that takes us further into the origin story of the Great Ones and the events that transpired before the first game, as a ‘prequel’.
It would be interesting to witness how the current world came about to be and what happened that led to the creation of the Great Ones by giving us the option to also play as one of the great ones for a brief amount of time to make the experience more intimate.

This again is easier said than done, as any Soulslike game is extremely difficult to play as well as develop. Given Hidetaka Miyazaki’s expertise on the genre, it would still require a lot of research and brainstormingto makeBloodborne 2a reality.
