Rapper and songwriter Post Malone is entering the world ofHunt Showdown: 1896in what Crytek calls the “biggest ever event” to hit the multiplayer game, and we have a new teaser hinting at what’s to come to players.
The event is called Post Malone’s Murder Circus, and Crytek claims it will bring a “unique blend of musical artistry and supernatural horror to the Bayou.” The rap star will play the outcast Ringmaster turned deposed King, who is now lord of the circus and its twisted crew.

The official description of the event from Crytek’s press release states, “Post Malone’s Murder Circus invites players into a nightmarish world where a once-traveling carnival has been transformed by a mysterious artifact known as the HelioStone. Post Malone, who plays the role of the vengeance driven Deposed King, the former Ringmaster, brings his unique creative vision to the game’s gritty historical landscapes marred by Corruption. Driven out by the HelioStone’s power, Post shadowed the Circus across the continent vowing to destroy HelioStone. Every time it manifests, he does his best to tear it down to the ground. Sometimes he recruits others – bounty hunters, desperadoes, and suchlike – to do it. Sometimes he takes on the task himself. But always the HelioStone eludes him, and so the chase continues.”
Post Malone, who’s real name is Austin Richard Post, comments about his passion for Hunt Showdown: 1896, saying, “You’re either hundred percent in or you’re done. I could either rock this dude and send him off, or I’m totally naked…. Every game I’m shaking, like this is awesome. Whenever you pull it off, I feel like I’m the best player in the entire world.”

Hunt Showdown can be extremely tough, especially for beginners. This loadout guide can help players get a jumpstart when they start playing.
While there’s no release date set for the event, Crytek has mentioned that it will feature a new Monster in the form of orphaned bear cubs, turned unnatural beast called the Ursa Mortis. The studio says this type of monster has deformed bodies and minds that got twisted into savage hunger by the HelioStone.
Like any event, it will introduce new themed hunter skins, weapon variants, enemies and more. Chances are, this event will be accompanied by a title update that also incorporates various bug fixes and improvements.
Hunt Showdown, originally released in 2018, has since retained a healthy player base. This year, it transitioned to Hunt Showdown: 1896, where the game was relaunched on a new engine. The game’s last-gen versions (PS4, Xbox One) were also killed off to make way for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.
