Finding The Mayor’s Shorts

And they aren’t just “in” her ranch. The Lucky Purple Shorts are inMarnie’s bedroom!
The Lucky Purple Shorts won’t spawn in Marnie’s bedroom until you receive the letter. However, you can prepare for this quest by befriending Marnie and Mayor Lewis during the Spring!
How To Retrieve The Shorts
Getting permission to enter a villager’s bedroom requires reachingtwo heartsin the Friendship meter. You can check your current friendship with the villagers using the menu’sSocial tab.
Fortunately, reaching two hearts is pretty simple! Here are some easy ways to improve your Friendship with any villager:
The easiest way to catch up with everyone is during town events—like the Egg Festival—because almost all the villagers will attend.

Giving gifts is the quickest way to build Friendship with a villager. Your relationship with Marnie improves quickly if you give her items she loves.
The easiest of these gifts to get her is aFarmer’s Lunchbecause it’s just made from aParsnipand anEgg. However, cooking requires you to have finished the first house upgrade fromRobin, and the most reliable way to getEggs is aChickenCoop.
Marniealso likesQuartz. While it doesn’t give as many points as her favorite gifts,Quartzis pretty easy to get from the Mines early in the game.
Marnie’sbirthday is on the 18th day of Fall.Unless you’re willing to wait, it’s best to start giving her gifts straightaway.

Once you’ve claimed the Lucky Purple Shorts,a ghostly pair swoops into attack! This enemy’s movements are similar to the familiar Bats in the Mines, butyour attackscan’t harmit. Better escape quickly!
