How To Beat Scorpion Lord
The fight will begin with the Scorpion Lord making a gesture, which allows the player to close the distance, use theirImmobilizeSpell, and then use their Spirit attack to land a heavy blow right off the bat.
After this, the battle kicks into gear.The Scorpion Lord will likely open things up with atriple tailspin attack, which is best avoided by watching the speed of the rotating and timing three dodges accordingly.
They will then likely try and use a tail stab attack, or a claw and tail melee combos. These are moves that, while dangerous,are the best to try and counter. attempt to find a window in between strikes and land a heavy attack of your own,as this will allow you to stagger them and get some additional hits in.
The Scorpion Lord will likely use one of their more powerful poison attacks. This will usually be an attack where they bury their tail underground, causing pools of acid to bubble in the immediate area. Which is then closely followed by an explosive AOE attack. It’s best to get clear of them when you see these pools on the ground.
They also have access to a relentless claw attack. When their claw glows yellow and they scream ‘yah yah yah’. This means they will do a claw slam attack that sees them walk towards you, slamming their claw as they go. This needs to be avoided, as getting caught in this attack can really upset your flow and lower your health drastically.
Other than this, the Scorpion Lord has access to a couple of grab attacks. If you don’t have the timing needed to avoid their basic attacks, you’ll almost definitely get caught by these. However, if you make use ofCloud Step, yourtransformation, and master the art of perfect dodges during this fight, you may not even see these animations.
The key to success here is touse your spells effectively to give yourself little breathersto heal and regroup.A Pluck of Manyis an excellent way to do this, as is Cloud Step.
Plus, if you get a good rhythm going between his attacks, you can constantly stagger the Scorpion Lord whenin your Yin Tiger state,which can help you melt that health bar of his.
The biggest killer is the explosive AOE poison attack, as this will obliterate your health bar, and they tend to follow up with attacks very soon after, giving you no chance to recover.
So, as long as you spot this one early and get to distance, you’ll always have a chance.
