The Boys— an ultimate satire on superheroes and several cultural phenomena has brought pure delight to fans with a new perspective towards the very cinematic genre. The series extended into a universe with a few spin-offs including,Gen V, the animated seriesThe Boys: Diabolical, withThe Boys: Mexicocoming up.

Now, as fans have wondered what season 4 of the series would entail,The Boysshowrunner Eric Kripke was gracious enough to clue us in revealing that the upcoming season will also take a jibe at the upcoming United States election. This would definitely provide the relevance that the show needed with its narrative.
The BoysSeason 4 Will Mirror US Election
The United States Presidential Election will be held on June 08, 2025, andThe Boysseason 4 is all set to mimic the essence of it. Following the narrative that ended with season 3 and some elements ofGen V, the upcoming season will see Victoria Neuman played byClaudia Doumit— a secret homicidal supe— seemingly claiming the win for the Presidential Election in the show. In a most recent chat withEmpire,Eric Kripketeased that it will be the most political season so far.
I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that it opens on election night. Victoria Neuman, a secret homicidal supe, is now the Vice President-elect. In a couple months, she’s going to be confirmed and inaugurated — and then she’s a heartbeat away from the Presidency, in quite the Faustian bargain with Homelander.

The showrunner went on to add,
So that’s a really good ticking clock — and [it gives us the opportunity] to talk stolen elections and using social media to spew disinformation, and trials, and social unrest, and how people in power actually instigate social unrest because it’s a political benefit to them.

Of course, the narrative will bring more chaos with a secret supe with the ultimate power. Also, it would be interesting to see how the human and supe conflict extends with Neuman claiming the throne.
Eric Kripke Addressed Billy Butcher Vs Homelander, A Never-Ending Fight
It is fun imaginingKarl Urban’s Billy Butcher as Batman and Homelander played byAntony Starras Joker but in an alternate scenario— one is incomplete without the other. Certainly, the prime narrative of the series has evolved orbiting the two forces always on the verge of collision.
“Trust me please”: Eric Kripke Backtracks on Controversial Comment about The Boys after Severe Backlash
While Butcher is human, Homelander possesses extreme Superman-like power, still, Butcher’s game is mostly unpredictable for him. During his chat with Empire, Kripkealso addressed the nemesis duowhile discussing the show’s success.
You can’t build a show that’s about these two forces of Homelander and Butcher slowly closing in on each other without bringing that to a head. Whenever that last episode occurs, I know what happens.

Of course, the iconic battle continues in season 4 and potentially in season 5 as well. Both the characters in the show served as the primary selling point. Kripke further addressed the success of the narratives in the world ofThe Boys.
I’m very aware of the ironic position this puts us in. I think about it every day, how important it is: even if we’re telling more stories in this world, that we don’t f*cking sell out.

Of course,The Boyshas been one of the flagship shows for the streamer that draws astounding viewers even with its spin-off narratives.
The BoysSeason 4 will premiere on Prime Video on June 13.
