Yanqing is a 5-Star Ice Type character followingThe Hunt Path. As a character available from the Beginner and Regular Warp Banners, he is not only easy to obtain, but can be an incredibly strong Main DPS when built correctly.
Yanqing’s Best Builds & Relic Sets
As with any Main DPS character, Yanqing should haveall of his stats focused around ATK and CRIT Stats to ensure maximum damage.When choosing the right Relic Set for him, these stats are all you will need to consider. Here is the best set for him.
4-Set Of Hunter Of Glacial Forest
A 2-Set of Hunter of Glacial Forest will increase Yanqing’s Ice DMG by 10 percent. A 4-Set will increase his CRIT DMG by 25 percent for 2 turns after he uses his Ultimate.With the massive increase to CRIT DMG, Yanqing will surely deal a hefty amount of damage to enemies when his CRIT Hits land. Since his Ultimate already will increase his CRIT Rate by 60 percent and CRIT DMG by 34 percent, he is almost guaranteed to land an incredibly powerful CRIT Hit.Here are some of the main stats and substats to look out for.

CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate
Make sure to boost up Yanqing’s CRIT DMG as much as possible since his Ultimate will already have an increase to his CRIT Stats.This means, when his Ultimate lands on an enemy, it could take them out in a single hit.An increase to ATK is of course needed for aMain DPS character, as well, to boost the damage of all of his attacks.

Yanqing’s Best Light Cones
Just like with Yanqing’s Relic build, you’ll want to provide him witha Light Cone that gives a boost to his ATK or CRIT Stats.Whatever you’re able to do to boost his damage as significantly as possible, will be the best choice. Here are some of our recommended Light Cones.
5-Star Light Cone: Sleep Like The Dead
Sleep Like the Dead will increase Yanqing’s CRIT DMG by 30 percent. When Yanqing’s Basic ATK or Skill does not result in a CRIT Hit, his CRIT Rate will increase by 36 percent for 1 turn. This effect can only trigger once every 3 turns.Sleep Like the Dead is the best available weapon for Yanqing due to the boost to a few of his necessary stats, including CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate.
4-Star Light Cone: River Flows In Spring
River Flows in Spring will increase Yanqing’s SPD by 8 percent and DMG by 12 percent after entering battle. When Yanqing takes DMG, this effect will disappear. This effect will resume after the end of Yanqing’s next turn. River Flows in Spring won’t be as amazing as Sleep Like the Dead, but it is certainly a satisfactory alternative.You’ll get a large increase to his overall damage, as well as a boost to SPD to ensure he is taking as many turns as possible.
3-Star Light Cone: Arrows
Arrows will give Yanqing a 12 percent increase to his CRIT Rate for 3 turns at the start of the battle.If you haven’t gotten your hands on any 4-Star or 5-Star Light Cones yet, Arrows will be your best bet for Yanqing.The boost to CRIT Rate will be incredibly helpful for his Basic ATK and Skill, and even increases the chances of getting a CRIT Hit from his Ultimate.

Yanqing can work with a few different teams, butpairs particularly well with Ice-focused teams.This way, he can have hisIce DMG increased from his Support.Here are some of our recommended team members, as well as a few alternatives in case you are missing some of them.

Pela (Alternative: Bronya)
Support, Can remove enemy buffs, decrease their Ice RES and DEF, and boost team’s SPD.
Asta (Alternative: Tingyun)
Support, Can increase the team’s SPD with Ultimate.
Gepard (Alternative: March 7th)
Support, Can provide shielding to the team and apply Freeze on enemies.
