Pokemon GO Tour Johto is the biggest event forPokemon GOso far in 2022 and there is a ticket you can purchase to access all of the content in the event, which will lead people to wonder if the ticket is worth it or not.
As with mostPokemon GOevents, there is plenty to do in the game without paying any money at all.
For those wanting even more, GO Tour Johto does offer a paid option for $11.99 with a lot of extra content, but is it worth the cost of entry?
What Can You Do For Free During The Event?
The good news for those not wanting to spend any extra money on the event ticket is that there is plenty to do in Pokemon GO Tour Johto without paying anything.
To start, the hourly rotating habitats with different Pokemon from throughout the Johto region will be available for everyone playing Pokemon GO.
In addition, this extends to the raids as well, as there are no exclusive raids for those that purchase the ticket. This means you will have access to the regional exclusive Heracross and Corsola raids, as well as the tier 5 Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Ho-Oh, and Lugia raids.
There will also be two special Timed Research for you to complete during the event, one of which are related to Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, while the other is related to Battle Trainers.
The other perks of the event such as event exclusive egg hatches, special in-person raid bonuses, and extra special trades will also be available, as well the reappearance of Shiny Smeargle. Lastly, you will be able to evolve Eevee into Espeon or Umbreon without walking as well.
Is The Pokemon GO Tour Johto Ticket Worth It?
The above features for those without tickets may sound good, but there’s so much more to experience in Pokemon GO Tour Johto by purchasing a ticket,.
To start, you need to pick either Gold or Silver, which will give you special specific Incense spawns and increased Shiny odds on specific Pokemon as well.
These will tie into 10 different Collection Challenges that will be available during the event, which you cannot access without a ticket.
Unown will also spawn if you have Incense going in the event, but only if you have purchased the ticket.
A ticket will also unlock Special Research where you first pick between Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile that will eventually give you a Red Gyarados and a Celebi that knows Magical Leaf as well. This then will lead into unlocking the Masterwork Research that will lead you to be able to get Apex Shadow Ho-Oh and Apex Shadow Lugia eventually.
Ticket owners will also get a free bundle of three Remote Raid Passes, in the store, as well as 9 free regular Raid Passes by spinning at Gyms. You can also get some exclusive stickers for the event as well from PokeStops and Gifts.
There are also some helpful perks for ticket owners only, including 1/4 hatch distance with Eggs, 2x Hatch Candy, and extra Candy from event Pokemon.
In our opinion, there is no question that the Pokemon GO Tour Johto event ticket is very worth it even at $11.99. There is a lot of free stuff to enjoy, but the amount of extra content in the game for ticket owners is well worth it for dedicated Pokemon GO players with all of the new research, Collection Challenges, increased shiny chances, and much more.
