Being a pirate has its pros and cons. The same goes for Luffy, who has garnered allies and foes along the way. The straw hat captain’s journey has been nothing short of arduous, considering an array of losses and wins.

Like most pirates, he has a treacherous relationship with the Marines and the World Government. And though the latter is menacing mostly, his conflict with a Yonko stands out completely.
But there is a catch to that as well. The fellow Yonko who is hailed as one of the strongest pirates might be a foil according to most fans. While he is formidable in more ways than one, there are downsides to that.

From his crew to his abilities, there is a seesaw in the power scaling. And though he has allies, they might prove to be a liability. But is the Yonko’s strength fraudulent in the One Piece series? There’s only one way to find out.
Luffy’s enemy stands overhyped according to fans
WhereMonkey D. Luffymade allies and liaisons, there are innumerable foes and enemies as well. The Straw Hat captain did so by outrightly displaying his non-conformity against the World Government and their regime.
His burning of the flag marked the end of tyranny and oppression. And though it is a historical moment in the series, it did open up a Pandora’s Box. However, it doesn’t come close to the betrayal he was about to experience.

In Marineford Arc, Oda gave us some of themost heartbreaking deaths. Ace’s end at Akainu’s hands was nothing short of gut-wrenching and sent most fans to disbelief. But what angers the fanbase is the Strawhat’s biggest enemy, Blackbeard.
Marshall Teach is an expert in battle strategy through his scheming personality. Treachery is also one of his fortes considering how he manipulated both World Government and Marines. And though he possesses two devil fruits and is a Yonko, he might be overhyped according to most fans.

“He is barely a D-tier character”: Eiichiro Oda Has No Defense for His Worst One Piece Storyline That Had the Biggest Buildup
Onr/OnePiecePowerScaling, Redditors noted his series of pitfalls despite his Yonko status.
Above all, Blackbeard is a Yonko who gained strength and power through treacherous means. His betrayal of Luffy and Whitebeard is a testimony to his megalomaniac personality. But this circles back to an ever-present question. Is his strength fraudulent in theOne Pieceseries?

Is Blackbeard’s strength fraudulent inOne Piece?
Blackbeard also known as Marshall Teach is one of the most powerful Yonko in theOne Pieceseries. From his crew to his devil fruit, he stands unparalleled in many aspects. This pairs well with his Observation and Armament Haki.
And though he is strong, powerful, and resilient in terms of his build, he does chicken out on most occasions. This is especially true when he was forced to retreat during the Amazon Lily Arc. Rayleigh’s arrival in the nick of time was rather unfavorable for the Whitebeard’s apprentice.
Another example of his apprehension is when he abandons Jewelry Bonney in the post-war arc. His retreat and escapism majorly have to do with choosing his battles carefully. Knowing that Akainu was present in the battleship, he put himself first.
Interestingly, this ties well with his crew full of devil fruit users. While his crew members are daunting, they arecapable of treachery. Several fan theories have speculated his members as being possible allies of the Strawhat shortly.
“The others are all original”: Unlike One Piece, Kishimoto’s Naruto Had Only 1 ‘Inspired’ Character Who Has Zero Haters in the Show
Blackbeard’s strength is rather over-hyped than fraudulent. And though he possesses Haki and ominous devil fruit powers, he isn’t undisputed.
